Terrified, Emily runs, not looking back until she reached their VR’s and controllers. Emily ducks behind the dunes where they left their VR’s and controllers and was about to reach out and pick her VR’s up when she notices James and the Kheprian are gone.
‘What should I do?’ she asks herself, not sure. Emily stands up and walks back to where she left James and the Kheprian and after seeing nothing she starts to walk over to the nearest open portal, ignoring the drones flying out of it.
‘These portals are way bigger than the ones we use,’ she thinks as she takes a deep breath and runs through one ending up on the other side, a dozen Kheprian Faceless, standing in front of rows of four-meter-tall machines and thousands of drones of different sizes, hovering above, waiting to fly trough.
