“The doctor will be with you in a moment,” the nurse says as she prepares a bottle for the baby.
“Is Scarlet, ok?” James wants to know.
“The doctor will be here in a moment,” the nurse says before leaving.
James holds the baby in his arms, the baby hungry drinking the bottle.
“James,” the doctor says walking into the room.
“Where is Scarlet?”
“I am sorry James but she had a stroke. It appears she had two. A small one when she passed out the first time when you called the ambulance and the second one on the table. She did not make it,” the doctor says.
James looks at the baby in his arms, “what the f**k am I going to do now?”
“Excuse me?” the doctor asks, confused.
A nurse knocks on the door, “the adoption agency and parents has arrived.”
