CHAPTER 6- HIS STEPFATHER’s WH*RE

1229 Words
VIOLET’s POV The drive to his stepfather’s penthouse was as quiet as it was cold. When we arrived at the magnificent modern palace of obsidian black and gold, servants welcomed us and ushered the two of us into the Master’s study. From the strained look on Adrian’s face, I could tell he wasn’t on good terms with his stepfather. When we walked into his study, he could be seen sitting behind a desk in a customized Spanish suit. Dark and lethal just like his aura was. His green eyes glinted in the dimly lit room, chiseled jaw ticked as he observed us come in with his fingers crossed and those pair of eagle eyes that eyed me and Adrian like we were prey. His hair didn’t have a strand of grey even at forty-five. He was a symbol of beauty and danger and this made people wary of him. Her husband’s dangerously mysterious stepfather- Gravyn Ravenwood. Seeing him in person made her flash back to the news I had heard about him sometime ago. News had it that Adrian’s mother had married her lover after her father died but she suffered a heart attack and died immediately after she said; I do. This made Adrian who was a teenager then, hate Gravyn and rumor had it that he killed the woman so he could claim her wealth. I hadn’t realized he was back in the country. He was a quiet yet powerful man in his mid-40s with a dark, brooding presence that instantly made me wary of him. Everyone feared this mysterious billionaire who moved with such a cold and deadly aura as of he owed the very ground he walks on and the rest of us were merely pawns in his game. “Have a seat.” His voice rang out, deep and chilling, snapping me out of my thoughts. “You sent for us? Please make this quick. I’ve got things to attend to.” Adrian cut to the chase, making no effort at hospitality. Gravyn was unmoved and that told me these two must know each other well. Rather, he pulled up a file from his cabinet and flipped it open. “It says here that sales have skyrocketed in Ravenwood Couture over the last two years?” He asked Adrian. “Indeed. We’ve gotten better as expected.” Adrian boasted with pride. As the president of the fashion and modeling firm, this was his way of running his success in the man’s face who never believed in him especially since Gavyn was the founder in respect to his late wife. “And throughout this time, I noticed the designs were what changed.” Gravyn went on, pinning those pair of icy ember eyes on me. I stiffen in my seat, feeling my spine go rigid at the intensity of his glare. “Yes? My wife joined us about two years ago as a designer.” Adrian furrowed his brows, annoyed. “I’ve come to know that she now works….from home?” Gravyn arched a brow. “Why is this?” “Well,—she’s married now and therefore has duties to take on at h—home.” Adrian stuttered, trying to explain his point. “What duties exactly?” Gravyn trailed his eyes down my frame. I could feel those burning orbs trace every inch of my frame. The c***k on my lips which I licked off with my tongue, the way my fingers wouldn’t stop fidgeting, and even the bruises on my fingers. Why was he staring so much? Almost as if he could see….my pain. That was when it hit me. The scar on his lip was the same as the man who saved me last night. It was him! But it was strange how he chose not to give himself any credit. “Taking care of a grown ass man is hardly duty.” He added, not tearing his gaze away from me. “You’ve reduced a woman of such great potential to nothing more than a pathetic housewife!” He barked in rage, startling me. Why was he so upset? I could see beads of sweat running down Adrian’s neck even as much as he tried to hide his nerves. “She is my wife and you have no say in our affairs.” He yelled, banging his fists on the desk. “Maybe not but I do have a say in a company I handed over to you. So yes, you will bring her back to the company and give her accolades for all her work starting tomorrow.” He turned to me. “Does she even know you take credit for all her art?” “What?” I gasped. So shocked that I choked on my own spit and went a fit of coughing. “Damn it!” Adrian muttered. Not caring I was having a seizure but to my surprise, his stepfather pulled out his own bottle of water and handed it over to me. His gaze never left my face for even the slightest second. “Th-thank y-ou.” I coughed, taking the bottle from him as I unscrewed the cover and took a few sips. Startled, I could heard slow clapping beside me. “I see what this is.” Adrian chuckled hysterically. “I could see his eyes on you from the moment we sat down. Do you have to seduce every man, you little slut?! Huh?” He lost his cool and rained abuse down on me. “What are you saying—?” “If your wife finds another man attractive,” Gravyn cut in, voice leveled and dangerously smooth. “Then it clearly goes to show how much you’ve failed in your duty as a husband.” Those words tore through Adrian like shards of glass and I could see it in the way his features twisted. “You both are dismissed. We’re done here.” The man added and immediately, Adrian kicked the chair back and stormed out like a madman. I had to run to catch up with his pace. He started the car the moment we both got inside and drove off into the distance, still fuming. He drove for a long while before pulling the car to an abrupt halt in the middle of nowhere. His chest heaved up and down in fury. “Why’d you stop?” I asked, staring at him, confused. “Get out of my car.” He let out bluntly. My eyes widened. “What?” “I said GET THE f**k OUT OF MY CAR, YOU CHEAP w***e!” He yelled out, banging a fist on the steering wheel. “You just had to go f*****g my stepfather behind my back, didn’t you? I bet you were with him last night, shamelessly warming his bed.” He spat in disgust. A tear slipped down my cheek. “What are you saying? You know I’d never cheat on you, Adrian. I—“ “Then explain.” His voice sounded calm at first and in the next second, he exploded. “f*****g EXPLAIN WHY HE DEFENDED YOU LIKE THAT TODAY AND MADE ME LOOK LIKE A FOOL!” “I don’t know. I have no idea. Please you have to believe me.” “Get the f**k out, NOW!”
