We spent the rest of the week packing up the moving van. So by the end of Saturday we were all packed up and ready to go to our new home in Pennsylvania. So we all woke up early Sunday morning to start on our road trip. It was quite a long mostly boring ride going from Indiana to Pennsylvania, but we broke the boring with a few fights LOL.
Of course after our long ride, we finally got there Monday night and everyone was scrambling to look around the house and pick out our new rooms which everyone got their own now except for the twins of course. And for a family of 13 kids that is beyond awesome! I got the attic of course, nobody else wanted it and I am fascinated with all the old stuff that is still up in there, mostly a bunch of old paintings and clothing with a few paper clippings here and there.
Now that I have my room picked out, I have a lot of cleaning and sorting to do, and I have some creativity to let out in decorating my new room. Of course I went with a purple theme, it's my absolute favorite color! I found so much new materials to use in those boxes that were in my room but so many old outfits I might just want to zaz up but not actually change because they're so pretty, and put in my closet. It took us the rest of the week for cleaning and decorating the house and putting things away. Sunday morning we got ready for assembly and ready to get to meet some people and our neighbors officially. We briefly met our next door Neighbors, when a few helped us to move in. but because of them everything was quickly positioned into their new spots and they left us to our own devices so we can make it our own! they didn't talk much although they were quite helpful.
I wanted to firstly go back over there and to thank them personally before we went to the town assembly. I immediately noticed even though there were quite a few dreary trees around the property their house was immaculately and elegantly decorated both outside and in although all they wore was black. I had knocked on the door only for it to creek open by a little boy who let me in.
"Hi, I'm Rosetta! Is your parents home?"
Looks back and yells, "Foster mommy! Some girls here?"
She comes rushing to the door, blond with a very tired look. "Hello can I help you hun?"
"Yes a few of your kids came over the other day and.."
"OH! I'm sorry." looks back into the house, "I told you kids not to.."
"Stop right there. we're your new neighbors." and I pointed toward our house. "and they just helped us put everything in but I didn't have time to even thank them and say thank you so much for helping before they left! Would you pass it on? It was only a couple of your boys and maybe the dad. But they helped us so much it was very appreciated."
"Oh of course, I'm sorry I just kind of assumed they were bothering you. Most people around here don't like my kids just for the simple fact of them being them they like wearing black and they assume about how they are but they are really very sweet. "
"Okay, sounds like the few people I got along with from our Old Town, but I just thought I'd say thank you before we were off to assembly. Hope to see you later?"
"You will we were just getting ready ourselves and you're welcome over anytime! Although this little Mister is kind of sick" and she rubbed on the hair of the boy that answered the door, "so we might be way in the back today."
"Well then see you there," bent down to the little, "and I hope you get to feeling better young sir" and little salute and wink, "and of course if you need any help with babysitting I am more than available I'm one of 13 so I have a lot of experience," laughing "see ya!"
"Careful we might actually take you up on your offer we have 24 of Our Own in this house and need all the help we can get just for a date night, but see ya." and she shut the door. Wow 24 kids?! No Wonder they need a date night. I looked around and saw the house is definitely big enough for that many kids but I've never known anybody even close to that except our own family. Maybe this might be kind of nice, maybe I could have a few friends here that might understand me after all! I looked up and saw the couple boys that helped us in the window and waved with a smile walking back home they waved back but kind of shocked. it made me curious.
Assembly was okay although I was told my neighbors stay in the back for a different reason than they gave me. Apparently the town kind of shuns them away accusing them to be Satan worshipers because of all the black, like what in the world? That's why they're the last ones in the door and the first ones out, but can you really blame them if that's how they're treated? they seem to be very nice to me and the way people were treating them just irked me the wrong way and on top of that the message today was about acceptance, and then they announced about us being their new neighbors. Like hypocrisy much? and the little one kept sniffing towards me like he was trying to smell me from afar but I chalked it up to him being sick and on the way to the bathroom I snuck him a few Halls in his hand. the mom smiled at me and smiled at him. and by the time assembly was over I'm sorry I wanted to smack everybody except for my new neighbors. because the moment they got into them as part of the conversation there was nothing nice said but when I questioned them and asked in reality no one knew how they actually were. I swear some people are just stupid and mean just to be stupid and mean!
But reality check hit me when I got home realizing I'm in the same situation. As to the two little twin Rugrats running around the house got into my room and started tearing things up after I had just gotten it settled and cleaned I yelled got frustrated with them and of course ended up telling Mom all about it asking for a lock on my door because even though we have a big family no one has a lock, except for my parents. Yeah we're going to have to fix that. I get my parents are in to no secrets but if they have a lock on their door so should we, no secrets is one thing no privacy is another! Especially when the twins just make fun of my outfits and artwork and try to tear them up. I just need a break! I wonder if the neighbors are home yet? looking out the window I see the cars just pulling up into the driveway and I run out my door.
