I don't want to pretend I understand Lyra's motive for getting me out of here. I'm sure she has her reasons and that I will find out sooner or later. But for now, I just follow alongside her as she links our arms. I expect her to let me go once we are away from those cold glass cells but she doesn't.
Instead, she smiles brightly, "How are you enjoying the palace so far?" She asks politely, heading for the general dining area. She must have been serious about taking me to lunch.
"Is that a serious question?"
She shrugs her slim shoulders. It's not hard to tell that she's never trained.
"My brother can be difficult and stubborn. He is a prince after all. He has grown up giving orders and having them obeyed immediately." She laughs lightly and I must admit, Lyra is a beautiful woman.
