Chapter 54

1414 Words
Dana’s face says it all, she had this crazed look, and her face didn’t really show the demure and coy woman who was so helpless during their first encounter at the restaurant when she caught Clyde and her on a date. The woman walking towards her now was the true Dana, a conniving, egotistical, and manipulative person. She did not care to hide anymore as there was no one around there to see her real form. Crystal knew she could be carefree, knowing full well how the woman operates. She quickly lets her eyes wander around, smirking as she saw an opportunity, she then proceeded to walk the other side to try to avoid her but as she expected Dana blocked her way and had obviously no plans to let her go through. “What are you doing here? Are you really out of your mind,” she hissed pointing a finger at Crystal’s face. Keeping a straight face she backed off a little bit, making sure to stay firmly in the place that she considered was safe for her. Flipping her hair to the side, she gives her a smirk and a very mocking look when their eyes met. “Says the married woman who’s still screwing with another man,” she scoffs. Dana moves closer to her, their face inches apart, it was obvious that she was trying to intimidate her, but she did not budge nor did she care to move even if their skin was almost touching. “I suggest you don’t do anything stupid, because you don’t know who you’re messing with here,” Dana says, glaring as she gritted her teeth. Crystal remained unfazed and love the woman’s reaction, she enjoyed it so much that her grin went even higher, almost reaching to her ear, all the while raising an eyebrow to further aggravate Dana. “And you have an idea who I am?” she says mockingly in her face not breaking eye contact as she stared straight at her. It was true that in that timeline the two of them never met, and that was her advantage as the woman never really knew anything about her, except that she was Clyde’s ex. Dana gape for a moment, obviously taken aback by her boldness and being unvexed at the threat. “Don’t try me,” she says once more, but now even in a much more menacing tone. Yet there was this fear in her eyes as she looked at her, a cause that must have been affected by her uncertainty towards her. Sensing that Crystal could not help herself but to continue with this little spat of theirs, as she still wasn’t satisfied with the woman’s current response to her taunts. “I wonder how your husband would react once he finds out why Clyde and I broke up?” she says as her eyes squinted, together with a devilish grin that started to appear on her face. That cause Dana to step back a bit, her lips twitching as she tried to say something but was not able to do so, and the color on her face started to fade once more, seeing as she was in a bind at the moment. Though she looked scared and shaking, the woman was still able to let out a smirk after a few moments, finally able to find her voice again. “He wouldn't believe you,” she says with a slow and deep tone. But Crystal can sense the bluff behind, plus the fact that she knew very well that one little hint can cause the woman’s husband into a spiral of doubt. “Are you sure about that, do you really want me to try?” Crystal let out a soft cackle because of the woman's fake and uncertain bravery. That cause Dana’s breath to become erratic, as she was now once again in a state of panic and despair. Her face twisted in rage as she was unable to hold on to her temper at the threat. “Why you…” backing away as she opened her palm she wasn’t really able to finish her sentence when Crystal raised her hand to her lips. She knew what Dana was about to do so she even gave her a mocking wink as she smirked. “After seeing your reaction a while ago, I’m pretty sure he’s already curious as to what’s the reason behind it, so a little clue ought to open his eyes, wouldn’t you agree,” she said with a very wide smile on her face. That made the woman froze in her place as she shakily clenched her fist. “What is it that you want! Money, Larse! Or maybe you want to get back with Clyde. Is that it?” she screamed, unable to hold her emotions at the thought of it. Crystal ended up snorting as she tried to hold her laugh. It took her a few seconds to compose herself again as she was truly enjoying the experience of seeing the woman distressed right now. But with a straight face, she said. “No, I don’t need something that petty, but I would really want to see what Clyde’s capable of, once Larse finds out about you two.” Flipping her hair to her side once again before folding her arms to her chest, she waited for the woman’s reaction as she was once again stiff like a pale ghost while standing in front of her. “You wouldn’t dare!” The words came out almost like a whisper. “Why I have nothing to lose anyway, and all of that is all thanks to you.” Smirking she waves her off wanting to let the woman know the consequences of her actions. Even though there was still a part of her that was a bit scared, knowing full well what the woman could do, she was prepared to face it head-on since there was only one thing on her mind now. Without warning Dana’s palms went flying straight into her face, creating a loud clap as it hit her. But Crystal, seeing and knowing what the woman was going to do, did not avoid it nor did she flinch when the woman had managed to make a clean hit. She just glared at her, not budging in place as she held her head up high. That cause Dana to finally succumb to her fears, suddenly embracing herself while backing away, quite shocked since what she did, didn’t seem to have any effect on her. “I’m not as helpless as you think Dana, I can assure you that.” Her lips formed into a line as she looked straight into her eyes. Being able to get into the woman’s skin was enough to give her the satisfaction she longed for. Knowing that the tide had finally turned, it was now her chance to make the woman feel all the pain that she had caused her. “You’re not going to get away with this!” Voice trembling as she nearing to tears Dana was still able to glower at her. Slightly pressing her hands to her cheeks she gives her a mocking stare. “Right back at you,” she states before walking to her side. Dana could not do anything but move out of her way as she could feel Crystal’s immense hatred. She just stood there staring as the reality of things started creeping into her. The moment that Crytal was out of the building she took out her phone and started dialing. “Hello Denise, this is Crystal. Is your offer still valid, I’ve thought about it and decided that maybe this is the right time for it,” she says in a very cheerful tone. She knew that she needed to act quickly if she didn’t want to end up helpless again. Knowing full well what might happen after their little encounter, she needed to make sure that she had a backup plan if things go down as she was predicting.
