JOCELYN’s POV…
I could hear their giggles from within the tent as the wind kissed my skin, rendering me to lose my strength. As if I didn’t already have the worst day.
In no time, I stopped hearing their giggles and the lights went out. I swallowed as I rubbed my hands against each other, placing it to my face with hopes that it would help me feel warm enough to at least pass the night, but it didn’t and when I turned, I realized no one was looking.
I got off the floor, slowly as I wiped my tears that I didn’t even know had started to stream down my cheeks. I drew in a sharp breathe as I kept walking, to the only place I knew I’d get solace. The only place I knew I’d feel loved and the only place that had managed to bring a smile to my face in the last fifteen years.
My whole body ached as I climbed the rocks there, but I was willing to persevere. It hurt a lot that I didn’t have a place to sleep or that there was no one to help me with my wounds, but the moment the wind from this part of the cliff kissed my skin, I felt a sudden sense of relief wash over me as I heaved a sigh of relief.
“Mother.” I called out, slowly as I spread my arms, letting the tears stream down my cheeks as the wind kept blowing my hair in my face.
I didn’t let it affect me. I just kept smiling as I kept calling out to my mother. “I miss you, mum!” I screamed as I shook my head, staring at the other end till my throat ached from screaming too much.
I gasped as when I could no longer scream, I fell back, kneeling as now, the tears that streamed down my cheeks weren’t ones of joy, but ones of pain.
“Another night for you to not show up, mum. Another night for me to be reminded that I am all alone in this cruel world, without….” The words hadn’t even left my lips when I started to feel something strange.
It was more of like sparks flying from within me and I started to notice Lyra kick against me, slowly.
‘Lyra?’ I called out, but she wouldn’t respond to me. She just kept writhing in pain, kicking against me.
‘Jocelyn….’ She whimpered and that was the last I heard of her.
I kept trying to reach my wolf, but I didn’t get her and I swallowed, could this mean there was danger lurking?
I ran my fingers through my hair as I got up immediately. I had to get out of here. Whatever had caused Lyra to react this way was only going to harm me.
I turned, about to rush off when I suddenly crashed into something very firm. The effect was too much and I staggered back, screaming as I almost fell off the cliff, but a firm hand grabbed me, pulling me back and I winced.
Coming back to my senses, I realized it wasn’t a thing I had crashed against, it was a person! I gasped as I moved away; immediately, and standing in front of me was none other than the most charming wolf I had seen all my life.
I gasped at the sight of this tall, well built, muscular, and breathtaking man standing in front of me.
“Lay and spread your legs.” His voice sent shivers down my spine and if I hadn’t been too disgusted by his words, I’d have actually done it.
I blinked as I stared at him, confused. “What?”
He took a step closer to me while I took one away from him. “It’s what you want, I know. I am giving you what everyone wants so come on, lay, spread your legs and welcome me with gratitude before I change my mind.” He told me and I moved closer to him as I gave him a slap across the face, disgusted.
“What do you even think of yourself?” I asked him, irritated at the audacity he had used in talking to me.
Sure, I was worth nothing, I had been locked down on like nothing my whole life but it gave no one, absolutely no one the right to speak to me like I was some sort of w***e or slut.
He stood there, like he had just seen a ghost as he looked me in the eye. “Do you know what you’ve just done or who you’ve just hit? I could…” I snapped my fingers in his face as the wind grew even stronger.
“I don’t care who or what you are, mister. You’re rude, uncalled for, and even worse, a pervert. Stay away from me!” I yelled at him and just as I made to leave the place as I recalled Lyra, he grabbed me, pulling me back, his hands sliding around my waist as he pressed my little body against his huge body, causing me to gasp as I shrieked.
The moment I had my body pressed against his, I felt sparks travel from my waist where he had held me around my whole body. Had I not thought of him as a pervert, I would have let my knees quiver and then lose it in front of this Greek god like man holding me.
I pushed him away, but he still held on to me as he looked me in the eye. “You’re going to pay for this, and I am going to make sure to get you. If you do not want trouble, lay there and spread your legs now.” He told me again and I lost it.
Who did this wolf even think he was?
I pushed him away with everything I had in me even though it caused me to stagger a little as I spat at him. “Stay away from me!” I screamed as I rushed back down the cliff.
“I’ll get you.” Following his words, I heard a scoff, but I paid no heed to it. I would never pay heed to perverts!
As I rushed back to the tent where I would rather die than spread my legs for a man like him, I felt my legs start to give way. I hadn’t eaten and I was so weak now.
My heart beat even faster and I didn’t have Lyra to call out to. I looked around the place, there was no one around to even help me.
I clenched my fists as I gasped, doing my best to quicken my pace, to at least get to safety first.
It took everything in me not to pass out on the way back to the tent, and luckily, I didn’t.
Getting to the tent, my legs gave way, causing me to fall to the ground, my heart aching like my chest had just been attacked. I gasped as I looked around, but I couldn’t see anything any longer.
The whole place was dark and the darkness and the numbness from my feet was the last thing I recalled before I finally lost consciousness.
Opening my eyes, it was to cold water being poured on me and opening my eyes, slowly, I found Erika, Abigail, Gabby and a woman who seemed to be middle aged staring down at me.
Recalling what had happened last night and how I had passed out, I got off the floor immediately as I faced the floor. “G..good morning…” following my greetings, a slap landed across my face and I staggered as I hit the wall, in pain.
“You filthy hybrid omega.” The middle aged woman spat as she grabbed my hair, causing me to wince in pain. “You’re supposed to be up at four but it’s past four. Who is supposed to wake you up?” She asked as she hit me again, sending me to the floor as I cried out in pain.
“I am sorry, I overslept and…”
“Madam Athena, she should get more work. She’s such a lazy ass omega. Aren’t they supposed to…” Erika didn’t need to finish speaking before I was pushed out of the tent, while I gasped in pain.
Following being pushed out of the tent, my cheek still stinging from the slap, a paper was thrown at me as I gasped in pain, doing my best not to let the tears stream down my cheeks. “You don’t get to have a bathe today, omega. You already slept off your bathe time. That list is for all the work you’ll be doing. Today, you’ll be joining the maids in the kitchen making food. Mess it up and I swear, you’ll regret it.” She told me, and with that, shut me out of the tent.
I gasped in pain as I held on to my cheek, the paper in hand as I looked around the place, trying to navigate my way to the kitchen.
Luckily, I was able to spot it and getting there, they seemed to already have a lot of work for me.
I gasped in pain as I dropped the bucket of water, falling to my knees as I gasped in pain. It was a surprise to me how I still hadn’t passed out from having gone to the stream and back countless times.
My heart was beating extremely fast as I fell to the ground, breathing heavily. This was it. This was the last one and I was grateful more than anything that I had finished it.
I looked up to the sky, the sun was out, everyone was doing their work already and I was sure most had eaten already, but me? I hadn’t eaten anything, hadn’t had my bathe and the only thing in me was the water I had drunk while I was at the stream.
“Come on, omega. You don’t think that’s all the work you have to do today, do you? Come here and stir this.” A woman from the kitchen called out to me and I gasped in pain as I walked into the huge kitchen that had many girls doing different things.
I grabbed the wooden spoon as I put it into the medium sized pot, stirring as I gasped, tired.
As I did this, again, I started to get this sparky feeling, the same as last night when I had lost Lyra, the only person I had. I held on tighter to the wooden spoon as I shook my head, no! This couldn’t be happening, I had nothing else to lose.
It continued and following it, I decided to concentrate on what I was doing. Maybe if I didn’t pay attention to it, nothing would happen. Sounded logical to me.
“Leave! Everyone!” A thunderous masculine voice erupted my thoughts and without even looking up, just at the feet of the man standing in front of me, I turned and made to leave, but before I could even take another step, the hand held on to me, pulling me back and having the hand hold on to me, I felt shivers down my spine.
“Not you. You stay!”
I gasped as the girls rushed out of the kitchen.
“Greetings, Alpha Kyros.” I heard one of the girls mutter as she rushed past me and my heart sank into my stomach hearing this.
Alpha Kyros? The same man I had sworn to never cross paths with. Oh, goodness!
I swallowed, raising my head slowly to see the face of the man I despised with everything in me, but raising my head, numbness travelled over me as the words left my lips.
“Y…you?” I gasped, this couldn’t be happening to me. Not now, please!
“I told you I’d get you, didn’t I?”
I gasped as his dark obs pierced into my soul.
It was the same pervert from last night!
He was the Alpha King!
