JOCELYN’s POV…
It all made sense now. The reason he’d been so confident and was treating me like a slut was because he was the Alpha. Oh, this bastard! If only he knew how much I hated him.
I clenched my fists, I should have given him more than a slap before I found out he was the Alpha King.
“So…. Now that you know I am the Alpha, are you going to spread your legs or…” before he could even finish speaking, I spat in his face, disgusted.
“I am never going to do that. I’d rather be tied to moving horses and be dragged while my skin is peeled against the floor than let you touch me, you filth of a man.” I told him and I could see the shock written all over him.
He must have perceived my omega scent and as such, was very shocked to see that I was rejecting him; a man any woman around here would die to ride.
He nodded as he chuckled, holding me even closer as he pressed my little body against his. “You’re different, I like you.” He told me and I shuddered.
Why did that have an effect on me? Was it because no one my whole life has ever told me they liked me? I stepped back as I shook my head. No! I wouldn’t let this get to me.
This was just an attempt to get me to spread my legs.
Very manipulative!
Get me to think he liked me and then when I fell for it, he’d strike. He was very manipulative and this was the only reason he’d separated my mother from me.
Remembering my mother, I pushed him away.
“Stay away from me, please. I want nothing to do with you.” I told him and again, he nodded, that smirk that highlighted all his perfect features coming to view again.
“Oh, I am going to get you, little one. I will, and that’s a promise. In no time, I’ll have you begging to make love to me.”
I clenched my fists, “to hell.” I told him as I rushed out of the place.
Rushing out of the kitchen and seeing all eyes on me, I felt instant embarrassment and now that I was no longer in his sight, I actually did feel fear.
What the hell did I just do? Did I just talk to a man who could have me beheaded like that? I stopped when I got closer to the tent. I swallowed as suddenly, I found myself unable to walk properly.
“Oh, goddess!” I cursed under my breathe as my movements began to slow down. What had I just done?
Also, why didn’t he kill me on the spot? He could have killed me at the mountain last night when there was no one because I slapped him and today, I spat in his face even after knowing he was Alpha. All these, they could have earned me the death penalty so why didn’t he have me killed?
Was there something I didn’t know about? Why was the most ruthless Alpha King sparing me for the worst things ever?
Getting to the tent, I decided it would be of no use to even go in because by now, the news must have spread that I was alone with the Alpha in the kitchen and from the stares I had gotten when I left that place, I could tell that they were thinking something else.
Something that would never happen! Ever!
I didn’t have any other place to visit because I was now scared of going to the mountain. What if he was there and decided to punish me now that we were alone? No, I couldn’t risk it so I decided to go to the stream.
I was very tired so I washed myself up there and had some fruits, giving me a little more energy to return to the tent and getting there, I could see Madam Athena staring furiously at me with a note in her hands and I could tell that things wouldn’t go so well for me.
I swallowed as I got to her and before I could say anything, she threw a note in my face. “Change of duties.” Was all she said before crossing her hands against her chest.
I swallowed as I stared at the list and I froze the moment I saw the first thing on the list, “Alpha’s personal maid!” I screamed as the letter came out of my hand.
She moved closer to me as she grabbed a handful of my hair, causing me pain but I guess the shock of becoming Alpha Kyros’ personal maid numbed me.
“You better not mess this up, omega, because trust me, you’re going to pay for it. Alpha Kyros has not had a personal maid in years and now, he has chosen you so…”
“But I don’t want to do it.” I shuddered as I started to feel the pain.
She let go of my hair as she patted my shoulder. “You don’t have a choice, omega, so go on, he’s waiting for you. Now.” She told me and suddenly, all the confidence I had earlier disappeared.
She directed me to his tent and as I went all the way there, being let through by the guards who must have been told I was coming, I felt my legs wobble.
His tent area was much different from the rest because it was bigger, more beautiful, had more things and… somehow, this place made me feel at ease.
I clenched my fists as I kept going, I didn’t like where this was headed and if I had known that just deciding to go to the mountain would cause me all this trouble, I’d have just stayed back.
Standing at the entrance of his shut tent, I felt my heart race. I closed my eyes as I took in a deep and sharp breathe.
“You’re only here to work, Lyn. It’s nothing. Don’t let it get to you.” I told myself and it was in times like these I missed Lyra the most.
Wherever my wolf was, I hoped she was safe and had a good reason for just leaving me like that.
I nodded my head as I pulled the flap open and walking in, the list I had in hand slipped as I met with Alpha Kyros putting on nothing but a towel around his waist with water dripping from his hair to his lower body.
“Argh!” I screamed and next thing I knew, he pulled me away from the flap as he pressed my body against the wall, his on mine.
My heart skipped a beat.
How did he keep having this effect on me?
