Chapter 44 - The Ranking Tournament Resumes

2608 Words

Zheng Jin darted through the city gates so fast that the guards did not even know who entered. Noticing that the city was a bit too quiet and less-bustling than usual, he then looked around as he ran. A lot of shops were closed, and some the merchants that usually paraded their stalls in the streets for everyone to see were nowhere to be found. Seeing all this, he had one guess. Now dashing through the steps leading to the sect gates, his guess was confirmed as he soon saw countless city folk, clamoring just outside of the sect gates. Zheng Jin clicked his tongue. He had been far too immersed in his training, and now, it came back to bite him in the a*s. He stopped short of the masses, then waved his hands to catch the attention of one of the disciples that were guarding the entrance.
