Chapter 2 - Golden Dragon Sect

"Hmm, I've never seen this kind of structure before..." Ezio said as he walked by the pavilion. After about half an hour of walking aimlessly, he finally saw a sign that said "Outer Disciple Pavilion". Although he had never seen those characters/letters before, he knew for a fact that it is what it said. Must be because of the original body's owner, he thought. After looking around for a bit, he saw something that caught his attention. A large mural, with glowing letters - which he assumed to be infused with mana. "It's a ranking system of some sort..." He looked at the mural and saw the words "Golden Dragon's Outer Sect Ranking". Apparently, it was a ranking of every outer sect disciples. As to what for, he had a guess that ranks the disciple's abilities. ‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡ Golden Dragon's Outer Sect Ranking 1. Ze Qi Yun 2. Fen Lunzi 3. Bai Shuanyang .... .... .... 1897. Zheng Jin ‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡ As for finding his name, he didn't take very long; because it was actually at the very bottom! "Why am I not surprised..." He sighed after seeing that there was a ranking of the disciples here. He already assumed that with Zheng Jin's stats, he would be at the bottom section of the rankings. Actually, him being at the very bottom was still within his expectations. After all, even an old and wrinkly retired soldier in his old world is on par with him now stat-wise, if not stronger. "Hmm, judging from that old man's actions and attitude from earlier, my time in this world will not be easy." Not only he was last in the rankings, but the old man's attitude towards him was also horrible, it was almost as if he was talking to a filthy animal. The former Zheng Jin must have had a bad time in this place, and he's sure he would too, given that he stayed weak as Zheng Jin was... "Well, at least I have my first priority for now." That is, of course, get stronger. The him now would not be respected, even if he had his talent, which is his golden tongue; he still wouldn't make it far in this life. In his past life, although he was just a D-rank adventurer, he had lots of things to cover that weakness. His socializing made him connections that kept him afloat when visiting kingdom after kingdom, and he had many equipment and items that boosted his fighting power and saved him from danger in the battlefield. After all those things he recalled, he had a bad feeling that it might not be enough here. "Well, enough about that. I need to find out where I live." He pushed those thoughts aside and promptly entered the pavilion. He hated not knowing anything about his current situation, and he won't find out anything just by standing around. It was still night, about four hours before the break of dawn. He saw very few people while walking inside. He initially thought to just ask him where he lived, but the cold stares he received convinced him otherwise. Suddenly, a cold voice came from one of the corridors behind him. "Tch, you p*****t, what are you doing, snooping around the pavilion at this hour?" Hearing that, Zheng Jin turned around and saw a girl with a crystal pink colored eye, paired with a long, luscious pink hair, flowing to her waist. Her demeanor reminded him of the princesses he saw back at his original world. "Hello milady, I'm afraid I didn't know that staying up late is f*******n for us disciples...but if I knew that I would see someone as beautiful as you at this hour, I would still go no matter what." Zheng Jin said as he put on his award-winning smile on his face. He didn't know if his charisma would still work in this world, but it almost never fails him back in his original world. "Wh-what are you talking about y-you...rogue!" The girl said as her cheeks turned slightly red from Zheng Jin's words. This boy's change in attitude had shocked her greatly, as back then he could barely even squeeze out words from his mouth when talking to other people, much less flirt with anyone like he did just now! "What do you mean milady, do you not like it when I speak the truth?" Ezio smiled from the inside. 'Hook, line and sinker' he thought. He used his glib-tongue countless of times before, and he could naturally determine who could be affected by it. Almost all of the time... it would be girls! "Wha- I mean... I thought..." The girl could barely speak now. This was beyond her expectations, Zheng Jin, the so-called "trash of the sect" making her speechless, how embarrassing! "Well milady, I would actually like to ask for your help right now. I'm afraid I have gotten lost and I can't find my way to my house. Mind helping me out?" "What are you playing at? It's naturally at the northwest side of the pavilion!" The girl took a deep breath and composed herself. Whatever this is, Zheng Jin might be playing a joke on her or something. She didn't believe that this p*****t who was caught peeping on the girl's bathhouse, wouldn't be up to no good! "Ahh, is that so? They must've moved it or something. Well anyways, thank you, miss...? Ezio bowed slightly and asked the girl for her name. Although she said it angrily, at least he knew where to look for his house now. "Hmph, what's it to you?!" The girl snappily said. "Well, thanks for your help miss. I do hope we see each other again." Ezio bowed again then slowly walked away, leaving the still-confused girl behind. The girl stared at Zheng Jin's back as he left, wondering about his change in attitude. But what grabbed her attention the most was his last question. Although they aren't close now, they actually knew each other a long time ago. She stared strangely at where Zheng Jin used to be, now her gaze carrying a sliver of a doubt. Either he was playing a joke on her or if he really forgot, she didn't know. "Let's see..." Ezio immediately went to the northwest side of the pavilion. After walking for a while, he found the residential area of the disciples. Every house had a plaque, identifying the disciple's name and rank; and the houses follow the order of the rankings. The highest rank he saw here was 1000, so the other houses might be on the other sides of the pavilion. After walking some more, he found out that the lower the rank, the less prestigious the residence is. He saw that the 1000th ranked residence had quite a big house for one person and a small garden to boot, and the following ranks slowly degraded in quality. He shuddered as he imagined his own residence, the last ranked disciple looked like. "Well, here it is." Ezio sighed. He is now looking at an old house...no...calling it a shack would fit it more, he thought. "Well, at least I have something." He walked towards the door of Zheng-no...his house. He didn't know if he could still go back to his original world, but he decided to live now as it is. His old life as Ezio Walhein was no more...gone...as the dragon's flames burned him that day. "I am now called... Zheng Jin."
