Roseline Shaman burst through the living room doors of her parent's house. She halted in the middle and screamed, “Dad, mum.” The elder Shamans descended the stairs in a hurry. Angela Shaman tripped in haste to reach her beloved daughter. Her husband caught her in time. They surrounded their daughter. Angela hugged her, Caesar Shaman patted her back. “ What's wrong baby, tell daddy.” “ Dad I'm done for, my heart is in tatters. Max is married.” “ What?.” Roseline's parents said in unison. “ Tonight l swung by the restaurant and found Martha there. She told me Max had just left with his wife. He got married this morning, mum I'm dying inside.” Caesar Shaman loved his daughter with all his heart. Nothing that threatened her happiness he crushed. He had connections in the Mafia underground. He used those connections as much as he could, to thwart his opponents. Pity Max was out of question. He was his future son-in-law, otherwise he would squash him. He whipped out his phone and put it on speaker, when the other party answered he shouted“ Pat, what's going on man? Why is my daughter crying in my living room, saying Max is married?” The other party kept quiet for a moment,“ Caesar don't shout at me, I'm not your child. Yes, Max got married this morning. My wife hid it from me, l was just as surprised as you. They told me when the whole thing was already over. Relax, the girl in question comes from the other tracks of town. There is no way she can be my daughter-in-law. Roseline is.” Caesar let out a sigh of relief. “OK, l trust you, good day.” Caesar hugged his daughter,“ you heard your father-in-law, everything is on track, stop stressing. Pat will sort things out. Max is your husband.” Roseline smiled weakly. Angela Shaman paced up and down, deep in thought. “ I think we should enlist Martha's help. Pat is too busy, he will likely forget. Rosy, call Martha, tell her to meet me here tomorrow.” Caesar stopped his wife’s incessant walking by holding her hand, “what do you have in mind? Tell Rosy she will pass it on.” Angela shook her head. “ Rosy is too faint-hearted for what l have in mind, l need Martha for this, she is a bull terrier.” The Shamans went back to bed after they were assured their daughter was fine. Rosaline left for her apartment, her heart lighter. The following afternoon, Martha visited the Shamans. Angela welcomed her and got to the point immediately. “ Martha, l need your help. Rosy is your friend, I know you don't enjoy seeing her hurting. I want that girl gone. My daughter waited for years for this marriage, some bimbo cannot come and snatch her man away. Please help me.” Martha nodded her head, “ of course, l will help you aunty, what do you want me to do?.” Angela’s eyes turned red, her face flushed, “poison the girl, you are able to come and go in your brother’s house. I could do it, but it would be easy if it's you.” Martha sprang to her feet, her face livid. “ Aunty, you want me to commit murder? No. Think of another plan, l will help you.” Angela patted the seat, “ calm down. Sit.” Martha remained standing. “ Nora is expecting her results, she is brilliant. l'm sure the Bluewaters Hospital will hire her immediately after she passes. How about we plant a Dr to hog her every step, then wait for an opportunity to snap a few photos and send them to Max?.” Angela clapped her hands, her small eyes glittered cruelly, “ brilliant, let's do that.” They chatted about other things and parted ways. Angela was still not satisfied, she wished Nora gone for good. She called her husband, “Honey, l need your help. You are still friends with The Sniper right?” “ Yes honey, why are you asking?.” “ Caesar, we can't leave our daughter’s fate in Pat’s hands. It's true he promised to do something about the situation, but we also have to help our daughter. That's where The Sniper comes in. I need his services.” Caesar remained mute for seconds, “.Let's talk about it more when l get home. In the meantime l will find out where he is, he moves around a lot.” “ Thank you honey.” Angela heaved a sigh of relief, she trusted her husband more than Pat. Her husband did not mind getting his hands dirty, he would do what was necessary to make sure their daughter got her man. Nora Reidy was as good as dead.
