I Am The Target

After the class, I found Johan outside the room.

"Hi!" Johan said and I smiled at him.

"Hello Johan," Sophie said while waving her right hand.

"Will you go home now with me or you have somewhere else to go?" Johan asked.

"I'll leave you right now, bye," Sophie said and kissed my cheeks.

"Good luck to your date," I said and she just smiled to me. Sophie already walked away and I told Johan about my plan.

"I'm going to the house of Daniel, I guessed he is just keeping the ring," I said to Johan.

"Then, let me go with you," Johan said.

"Alright, let's go," I said and we walked together.

"Why do you think he is hiding it?" Johan asked.

"I don't know. I just felt it," I replied. "You know, he is not a kind of man who just put an important thing just anywhere. He must be lying, I guessed he throw it or destroyed it. He is looking for it to give back to me, he is just afraid to say it," I explained.

"He told you that he only put it in his drawer right?" Johan asked.

"Yeah," I replied. "Do you think he is telling the truth?" I asked.

"It's possible but if he put it in a drawer in his room, or house, then someone took it that's why it disappeared. But it's been two weeks, why can't he find it? There's a lot of questions. Why would he lie and keep the ring? If he is telling the truth, why don't he tell you a closure that it was lost? Why tell you that he misplaced it and will look for it?" Johan asked.

"That's the question that we cannot answer. Only Daniel can answer that,"I said and got inside the car.

Johan immediately started the engine and drive the car. "He must be out of work now soon. We still have a long way to travel, I'm sure we can find him on his house," Johan said. Luckily, Mr. Black told me where is his house.

"We have to make him tell where exactly the ring is so that we can already proceed to the next plans. If he lost it, we have to find it. I'm sure that he cannot destroy it," I said.

"Just relax and rest now. You may sleep there, I'll wake you up when we reach there," Johan said.

"I cannot relax," I said.

"Why did you suddenly become eager to get back the Magical Ring?" Johan asked. "Last time, your just chill. You don't even care if you can get it back or not," Johan said.

"Honestly, someone followed me and Denver last night using a black van. Luckily, we lost them in the crowded area in the City Park. I've seen those armed men, they are not wearing tiger mask but I have a bad feeling that they are members of El Tigres," I explained.

"Why didn't you tell me last night?" he asked.

"I don't want to make you even more worried. Besides, I came home safe and sound. It's alright," I replied.

"Silly girl. You're so, gosh! I don't know what to do if something happened to you," Johan said.

"That's why I need to get back the Magical Ring. If I have it, you don't have to worry about me anymore," I replied. "Johan, they know us but we don't know them. They seems like following all our moves and just waiting for a good timing to attack," I said.

"We've already known two worship place and two leaders in the El Tigres Cult. But we don't know who is their prime leader and who keeps on trying to kill us. We've been very careful and never gone back to the Hullah Village anymore. No one knows us except from the secret village and the assassins. Their target is not us, it's you whom they wanted to kill," Johan said. "Do you know how did they recognized you?" he asked.

"I first seen them when I left home, when Jonas helped me. Then, they keep on hunting us. I thought you were the one whom they are trying to kill and I was just included because I've been always with you," I said.

"Jonas didn't killed them that time. They found the Magical Ring, it's possible that when they told their leaders, they recognized you," Johan replied. "They cannot get any information about us linking to Hullah Cult and Village. They attacked you last night and they only attack us when we are with you. When you left home last time, we lost sight of them too," Johan said.

"So, I'm really the one who bring you troubles," I sadly said.

"No, it's only that you have a big responsibility to the society. That's why the troubles keeps on bothering you. It will never stop specially when you get back the magical ring again," Johan said.

"I know, I understood," I said. "What if I'll go away from you, your sister and brother as well as Sophie and Denver? Then, you guys will be safe," I said.

"You can't. Glady, it's still better if we are many and united. You cannot defeat your enemies alone. Besides, the evil are not just your enemies, it's our enemies too," Johan said.

Although I'm not the one who makes evil and started troubles, I'm the reason why my friends suffers. Troubles is following me and those people beside me are the one who aggrieved. If I could get back the magical ring, I will hunt down the evils alone. Besides, I don't have family anymore. I don't have to worry about anyone but my friends whom with me now.

"Why are you silent?" Johan asked.

"Nothing. I'm just hoping to get back the Magical Ring soon. With it, I can protect you all instead of making you guys worried of me," I said.

"Don't worry about us. You only have to worry about yourself and the people that will suffer if we cannot stop those inhumane El Tigres Cults," Johan said.

"I'll just take a nap. Please wake me up if we are near to Mr. Black's house," I said and lean on the car's seat.

"Rest well," Johan said.

"Will I ever see the magical ring again? What if Daniel really lost it somewhere else? How can we find it again?" I asked in my mind while trying to fall asleep.
