Sophie's Family

We went on Sophie's main house and drank some wine there with Denver, Johan and Jonas. We'd like to celebrate Sophie's party with only us, bestfriends but because of Denver, it become a little messed up.

"Your friends seems unhappy that I'm here. I better go now," Denver said and stood up after drinking a cup of wine.

"No!" I said and they all looked at me. "I mean, I'm sorry if I ruined the plan Sophie. But Denver is your brother, I guess you should celebrate with him and be happy," I said. "Johan, Jonas, didn't you said that my friends are your friends too? Come on, why are you guys looks so weak and sad?" I asked.

"Of course, Glady," Jonas replied and went beside Denver. "It's just not a good timing to know you but, I'm happy to have ANOTHER FRIEND," Jonas stressed the word 'another friend' and sat down in the sofa.

"Thanks Jonas," I said and smiled to him. Denver sat down again.

"Johan, right?" Denver asked while looking at Johan. "I'm sorry for what happened lately," he said and Johan finally smiled.

"It's alright," Johan said and got his cup of wine. "Cheers!" He said and we raised our cups too except Sophie.

"I guess I have to go back to the party now. Mom and Dad, as well as a lot of guests maybe looking for me now. Besides, Denver is already here," Sophie said. "Dude, take care of my friends," she said and immediately make her way out.

We four look at each other. "I have to go after her. See you around," I said and put my cup of wine in the table. I immediately ran after Sophie.

"Sophie, wait," I called her.

"Glady, why did you went out and leave them?" she asked and waited for me.

I walked toward her and hugged her very tight. "I want your birthday to be happy. Let's go and dance inside the party room," I said and drag her. I've seen in her eyes that she's very happy now.

"I thought I can't be with you tonight," she said while we are going back to the party, I'm still holding her hands.

"I won't let that happened," I replied. Then, we entered the dance floor and told the jockey to change the music into something new and rock. Sophie is now wearing a sky blue short dress, she already change her gown before they searched for me later.

We dance together like the whole dance floor is ours. With proper movements, just following with the beat, we are dancing like we're the happiest person in the world. "HAHAHA!" Sophie laughed.

"Come on, let's get some drink and dance again," Sophie said. Well, there's only a few guest left now. It's already 10:00 pm and the guest are slowly lessening.

"Sure," I replied. Later on, I and Sophie sat in a table and drank wine when someone came to us.

"Sophie, don't drink too much. Okay?" the woman said.

"Come on hon, let her do what she want tonight. It's her birthday besides, we are here to too to watch and keep her safe," the man said.

"Oh, you're so cool Dad. Mom, I can handle this," Sophie said. "By the way, this is my bestfriend which I am talking to you. She is Gladilaine, sis they are my parents," she introduced us to each other.

"Nice meeting you Uncle, Auntie," I said and shook hands with them.

"Nice meeting you too, Glady," they replied in chorus. "My daughter often tell us things about you. She's very happy to have a friend like you as well as we're happy for your friendship too. She said that you are so kind," her mother said.

"Hehe. Sophie is so kind too and I'm very blessed to have her," I replied and they smiled.

"See Mom, Dad, she said I'm very kind unlike you two. You often called me stubborn," Sophie said and pout to her parents.

"Hahaha!" the couple laughed. "Well that's good if Sophie, my very stubborn child is trying to be kind now. We can see it too, that's why we really have to thanked you Glady," her dad said.

"Oh, you don't have to thank me," I replied. "It's Sophie's decision to become good that's why you should thank her not me. At last, she's getting mature and becoming kind, you have to praise her for it, not me," I said and the two looked at each other.

"I'm very happy that Sophie known a friend like you. You're a good influence to her," her mother replied. "Sophie, darling. You will have a new car from me," her mother said and Sophie stood up in excitement.

"Really?" Sophie excitedly asked.

"Truly!" her mother replied and Sophie hugged her.

"That's enough," her mother said and Sophie let go of her. "We will leave you now. We still have a few guest left, we will just entertain them," her Mom said and they left us.

"Aaaaa!" Sophie happily yelled. "I'm having a new car," she told me and sat down again, happily.

"I'm very happy for you," I said and smiled to her.

"Thank you sis," Sophie said. "By the way, I'm not close with Denver. He often blame me and Dad why his family was broken. Specially when he went to US and his Dad encountered a plane crushed in the Pacific Ocean while traveling back here from US. His Dad was lost and everyone already thought that he died. Of course, there's no survivors in that crush and only dead bodies was recovered," Sophie sadly said.

"That's quite sad," I replied.

"I can't blame him if she hates me and Dad but sometimes, I just can't let him step on my pride again and again. Dad and I didn't mean to hurt him, or to give him this ill-fated life. I've been trying to get along with him since he comeback here last year but he is so mean to me. He often stays in the rest house too and never give us a chance to fill in the gaps in his heart. He is also mean to Mom, his own mother. Of course, how can he accept us if he couldn't even forgive his own mother," Sophie seriously said.

"At least, you have your Mom and Dad since you are young. Unlike Denver, unlike me," I said. "I know what's the feeling that you badly want a love from your parents but you could never have it. Time passes and once you missed it, you could never bring it back. In a lot of years, Denver suffers from sadness while you are cherishing you family," I told Sophie. "Isn't it time to fill those moments for him? Isn't it the time for you to longer your patience for him and forget your grudges? Doesn't he deserves your Mom's love and your father's understanding?" I asked her.
