40 YOUNG WOMAN’S SUICIDE Statements at Inquiry SYDNEY Evidence that the deceased had stated her intention of taking her life was given by several witnesses yesterday during an inquiry by the City Coroner. Reginald Ernest Prior, a nephew, of the deceased, said the deceased was despondent and on one occasion referred to the death of a girl from strychnine poisoning, adding, “How long did it take to kill her?” On several occasions the deceased indicated to the witness that she wished to take her life.
