I stared blankly at the phone screen. I don’t know how long I froze in space and time. I felt like I couldn’t move as my heart began to fill with the painful stings of disloyalty. I felt air leaving me as if I was passing out, but yet I breathed. My deepest fears had come through. Curtis betrayed our love. I should kill him.
He met his mate and had been intimate with her. The kiss was on the lips and the picture was taken by someone. I scrolled through her photos. His mate was smiling as if she was the happiest person in the world.
I rejected my mate for you, Curtis. I never kissed a guy because of my devotion to you, Curtis. I gave you my heart and virginity, Curtis. I silently yelled in my head, wanting to smash anything.
