Chapter 29: The Departure

As Charles saw Rose stumbling into the street lamp, he couldn't help but be surprised. Her clothes were dirty, and he noticed that her eyes were red, as if she had been crying. Charles decided to follow her, but he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, so he simply suggested, "I'll go back too, on my way." Rose didn't reply to Charles but instead walked away dejectedly. Charles tried to reach out to her again, "Are you hungry? Do you want to grab some Mala Tang with Justin and the others?". However, without turning back, Rose shook her head, increased her speed and reached her apartment door instantly.  Charles was worried about Rose, having disappeared for several days, and returning late at night. His heart raced as he remembered the man who had been following her that day. Just as
