Joseph had always been intrigued by the woman who had apparently been his father's childhood sweetheart. Megan had described her as someone who was even more ruthless than most, having abandoned her newborn daughter at the hospital.
"I'm not saying that you're related," Joseph clarified. "I just want to know if her mother's whereabouts are truly unknown."
Mason simply replied, "Her mother hasn't contacted her since dropping her off here five years ago."
Joseph let out a sardonic clap. "So, why bother helping the little mute find her mother? Why come back now when she wasn't there for her before?" He looked at Mason with suspicion. "Is it because you want to find her?"
Mason was taken aback and frustrated. "What do you know?"
