James looked up at Kathy, the woman who had been Lily's so-called best friend. She was the one he had encountered on the day Lily went missing, someone who had no qualms using the bond she had with Lily to get his attention.

"...Ah! Lily isn't here anymore? But where could she have gone? At the last class reunion, she got along quite well with some wealthy classmates..."
"Do you have time tonight?" James asked Kathy in a cold tone, not wanting to indulge in her clumsy performance any longer.
"Uh...yes, I do!" Kathy nervously replied.
"If you do, accompany me to a banquet tonight." James glanced at his wristwatch, his words devoid of any warmth.
He knew exactly what this woman wanted, and if she was so eager to perform, he'd give her a chance!
