Chapter 3: Failed Escape

639 Words
Lily went all out and bit James's neck with a vengeance, like she wanted to bite the life out of him. But James seemed unfazed, letting Lily sink her teeth into him. It wasn't until Lily's mouth was full of the taste of blood that she released him. James allowed the blood to trickle down his neck, his dark eyes filled with restrained anger. But in the end, he coldly commanded, "Just this once, not again!" With that said, he turned and walked away. Leaving Lily standing there, sneering, wondering what he meant. Another time? No way! This time, she couldn't get tangled up with James again! So, her plan was to leave the country immediately. As long as she stayed out of James's reach, everything would be fine! Lily packed her bags overnight and rushed to the airport, only to be told she was prohibited from flying! What's going on? Lily didn't understand. The airline stewardess told her, "I'm sorry, Miss Jones, but we received a notice from above that you're prohibited from flying for an unknown reason!" Notice from above? For an unknown reason! Lily slapped her forehead. How could she forget that James's influence had become terrifying over the past few years? With just a word from him, he could have her in the palm of his hand within minutes! Lily, holding her passport, prepared to leave. But just as she turned around, she saw a group of black-clad bodyguards coming towards her. Oh no, if she got caught and brought back, would she have any way out? Thinking of escaping, Lily looked at the approaching bodyguards. She gritted her teeth, abandoned her luggage, and bolted. At this moment, the airport was crowded with people coming and going, and Lily's escape wasn't going smoothly. Before she had run very far, the black-clad bodyguards caught up with her. What to do? Lily could already imagine James's sinister, predatory expression. Her scalp tingled. She had to find a way to escape from these bodyguards immediately. So, Lily clutched her stomach and pretended to be in great pain, saying, "My stomach hurts so much! Why is your family's madam so ruthless? I said I broke up with your young master and won't see him again, so why won't you let me go? Ouch, it feels like I'm about to miscarry!" Lily lay on the ground, pretending that she was about to have a miscarriage, her face pale. With Lily's performance, most of the airport's passersby were drawn to the scene, pointing fingers at the bodyguards. "These rich families nowadays don't treat young girls like humans. Their own sons do something wrong, and they still hold the girls accountable!" "It's really outrageous, just outrageous!" ... People were criticizing the so-called wealthy families one after another, leaving the black-clad bodyguards bewildered. They had followed James through countless trials and tribulations, experienced all sorts of storms, and seen it all. But now, they were stopped in their tracks by a young girl! "Miss Jones... please don't deliberately make things difficult for us!" These bodyguards were somewhat astonished. They knew Miss Jones's identity better than anyone else. All this talk of pregnancy was definitely a hoax. But they still couldn't lay a finger on Lily, who was lying on the ground! "Oh no, oh no! My baby is really in danger..." Lily shouted loudly, and some kind-hearted passersby immediately called for emergency assistance. In no time, a crowd of doctors arrived at the airport and took Lily away, leaving the bodyguards dumbfounded. Finally, Lily got into an ambulance as she had wished. But why were there so many doctors? Why was this ambulance so big and luxurious? Lily sat up and looked at the unfamiliar street scene outside the window. "Where are you taking me?" "Miss Jones, I'm sorry, we're just following orders."
