There is a knock on my door, and I immediately sit up, wondering if my mother's contact has arrived. I invite the person inside the room while wiping my face, and my mother enters with an unrecognizable expression, holding her phone.
I am about to ask her what is wrong, hoping she will not tell me that the person will not make it. They said they would be here in a few hours, and that was hours ago after we spoke.
