“I-I’m Kyler,” I stammer, my gaze locked on the guy, and he says he knows who I am, his voice thick with emotion. There’s silence for a moment as we both stare at each other while he looks to be getting more and more emotional at the sight of me.
A million things run through my mind. Why does he look so much like my dad, like me? Who is he to him? I’m not close to my dad’s side of the family, but I know everyone but I don’t know him.
“I’m sorry,” he says, apologizing for getting emotional as he wipes his face before extending a hand to me. “It’s nice to finally meet you,” he adds, and as I shake the hand, I can no longer hold myself back and I ask him who he is and how he knows me since he said he knows me.
