“What do you mean, it was a mistake? A mistake for who? Because there was no mistake on my part.” I am confused.
My heart rate speeds up but Shiloh doesn’t reply but continues crying. I lean on the wall, recalling how she said she was going to Mother and how she ignored me after that.
Did she say something to her? She said she didn’t sound upset on the phone and even said she missed her. But why would she suddenly go back to talking crazy? Did Mom figure out she was lying and didn’t break up with me?
I call her and it takes a moment for her to find her voice and respond. I ask if it’s my mother, if she said something to her and she says no, but I can hear how she started crying again when I mention her.
