Chapter Nineteen
“I want you to be able to talk to your friends. It’s got the same number as your old phone.”
I looked down at the cellphone. It was sleek and shiny, newer than the one I’d had before. I looked back up at Demon, feeling warmth bloom in my chest. “Thank you, Demon.”
“I want you to make a plan to hang out with Heather. You can bring her here if you’d feel more comfortable.”
“Would that be okay?” I asked, worrying my lower lip between my teeth. She didn’t know what the guys were and I knew how much they valued their privacy. She also had a toddler and I couldn’t imagine Kari being let loose with the lack of baby-proofing.
“She’ll get to know us. It isn’t like we’re going to tell her what we are. We can stay covered. If you want to go to her, that can be arranged as well.”
