Shock shot me like an arrow, yet the blow took over my body, drowned my sobs. It was an arrow tipped with irresistible, mind-numbing sweetness. My eyes closed on their own. Ausmane's gloved hand went behind my neck, into my hair, tilting my head up so his mouth closed fully over mine. Heat zinged down my belly and melted me from the inside.
