A flicker in my chest woke me. My eyes rolled in their sockets. A shadow moved over the brightness under my lids. A soft whoosh, as if a large bird flew over me, sent a gush of air my way. The shadow was gone.
My teeth chattered, and I curled on my side. What…where was I? What was that? I pushed up on my hands and pinched my eyes until the ground focused underneath me.
