Paranoid of what this crazy loon would do, I clung on, mouth shut, with the slimmest hope he wasn’t going to expose me in the middle of the banquet hall or lock me up somewhere or dangle me a hundred feet over a railing. Apart from that, how in the world had I gotten myself in this situation with the unlikeliest of people? Why wasn’t I putting up a fight? It was a near repeat of last time. He disarmed me, yet I didn’t care. My hands, while gripping his back, explored what I could never outside this mantle. It was as if I was in a whole new world of only him that no one knew, and he showed no one. I tried to make out the bumps in his back, the two long, slanted slits inches wide.
