Poppy’s P.O.V I quietly slid through the silence, trying to regain some sort of vision so I could pick something,anything, out of the darkness. My hand tightly clenched the small pocket knife in my hand, alert and ready to be used at any moment. I followed the wall to my right, my right side pressing against the stone as I shifted carefully in silence. The basement smelled of dust and mold. The stench almost forced me to gag as I inhaled quietly. The basement looked completely void of life. I didn’t notice any movement whatsoever as I moved along the wall of the basement.
