Poppy's P.O.V
The darkness entirely surrounded me as I bounded quickly through the forest. My feet pushed off of each patch of ground with each contact. My lungs burned due to the lack of oxygen, as I forced my speed to increase even further. My legs burned with fury. My mind was focused completely on the sound of footsteps behind me as well as how I would be able to escape. I pushed against a rock that was lifted against the ground, using my entire weight to push further from it. My arms waved wildly as I attempted to steady myself in the air. My feet hit the ground with a heavy thump. I scrambled behind a fallen log. I inhaled quickly, attempting to lower the pain I felt within my lungs. My breath occurred in short but deep gasps.
