Ashton’s P.O.V
The sun broke over the hillside, painting the dark sky shades of amber and purple as I sat in bed, stewing about The fight poppy and I had just hours ago.
Surely she could not be so dumb? She gave birth weeks ago and yet she now wants to abandon our child to go fight in a war I’m already in?
I growled under my breath, looking at the empty place next to me where I had awoken to her many times.
Why must she be so stubborn?! I know they killed her best friend but, her life is not worth losing just for the sake of vengeance. I promised her I would make them pay and I will. Does she not trust my punishment? Why must this mean so much to her that she is willing for her son to become an orphan?
