Poppy’s P.O.V I stood in front of the mother of my mate. My hand gripped tightly to the hunting knife that was drenched in the blood of those she commanded. Splatters of crimson contrasted my hair of snow against the warm light of a flickering lantern. I stared her down as Kate stood from behind the desk, walking around to the front of the sturdy oak table.
