Chapter Two The rain didn’t stop. Her own small window gave her the view of basically the driveway, but Stacey couldn’t make out anything. She wondered if she could go find Charlie. But the fear of pissing off his father made her stay in place. It was probably a good idea that Charlie come to fetch her rather than run the risk of her being caught creeping around the manor. She wasn’t sure what she was waiting for and was busy trying to quell her nerves when there was a knock on the door. Stacey rushed over, hoping it was Charlie, and opened the door. “Hi, ma’am. Brought the luggage by.” It wasn’t Warren who stood before her but someone new. Stacey wondered just how many people worked in this house to keep it running.
