The Missing Years, 1989 to 1998Wait a minute; in my first draft, right here is when I started my next section, but there are nine years between my graduating college in 1989, and 1998 when the next part, ‘Transition Time’, happens. Oh s**t, now I have to revisit those years. We were living in the row house my sister owned, built in the forties for the workers at Willow Run Airport, like the ones who came north in the book The Doll Maker by Harriette Arnow (which made me cry when I read it.) Archie was about ten years old when we moved there. Nothing major happened until late 1993 when Laura and her husband stopped by on their way from South Dakota to Tennessee. And her baby was born in December, luckily at nearby Joseph’s and taken immediately to the nearby University of Michigan C.S. Mott
