Chapter 6 I Don't Have Such a Despicable Daughter!

754 Words
"Understood!" Julian suppressed his inner emotions and answered softly. The next second, he looked up and met Ethan's cold, deep eyes, and had to raise his voice, "From now on, she will be my mother!" Only then did Ethan turn to Sophia beside him, "What does my wife think of this disobedient son's behavior today?" Sophia's cheeks were flushed a deep red! In a matter of days, she had gone from fiancée to stepmother. The abrupt change in status and recent events left her reeling. Julian cast a pleading look towards her... It was evident that unless Sophia spoke up and agreed, he would be forced to continue kneeling. No one else dared to interject, except for Eleanor who weakly said in a low voice, "Alright, Ethan, you've vented your anger. Why don't we... end this matter here for today?" Ethan looked at Sophia, and Sophia nodded slightly. "Since my wife has given her consent, let's leave it at this for today." Ethan casually wrapped his arm around the slender waist of the woman in his embrace, carelessly glancing around. Just like that, he swaggered out of the Graham family home with Sophia, unapologetically! Utterly disregarding the dignity of the entire Graham family! While fully respecting Sophia! Everyone could see that Ethan's actions today were clearly intended to back up his new bride. Throughout the entire ordeal, Sophia remained impassive, not even deigning to look at Julian. Ethan took her hand and led her to the car. As soon as the car door closed, Ethan turned to Sophia and asked casually, "Do you feel sorry for him?" If not, why had she been so tense and silent until now? Snapping back to reality, Sophia quickly shook her head, "No." No? The man suddenly leaned down, raising his long-fingered hand to gently play with her seaweed-like wavy chestnut hair, "Then what is it?" The distance between them was so close that Sophia could clearly smell the faint scent of tobacco mixed with the distinctive aroma of his custom-made cologne. For a moment, her thoughts were pulled back to that reckless night. Her bright, limpid eyes widened, and she even forgot to breathe for a moment. Ethan leaned close to her ear, "Why isn't Mrs. Graham saying anything?" Sophia could clearly feel the heat from the large hand on her waist. Her body felt like an electric current was running through it. The car hadn't started yet. It was still parked outside the villa. At this moment, if anyone from the Graham family came out, they would clearly see the intimate gestures between the two. Ethan hadn't even raised the car windows. It was as if he deliberately wanted to announce to the whole world, to stake his claim. Sophia bit her lip and asked, "Aren't you afraid that gossip and rumors will tarnish your reputation?" To Ethan's surprise, she wasn't concerned about what would happen to Julian. Instead, she was concerned about his reputation. His large hand gently caressed her face as he smiled playfully, "When has Ethan ever been afraid?" Indeed. He was a golden child, with a formidable reputation in the business world. Even someone as seemingly successful as Julian would kneel at his command. No matter how unwilling, he had to publicly acknowledge her as his stepmother, didn't he? Ethan spoke softly: "He's just the first. The Whitmore family is next." He glanced at the driver from the corner of his eye, and the driver immediately understood. Before Sophia could react, Ethan's car had already driven into the courtyard of the Whitmore family villa. ***** "Has she completely lost her mind? She's utterly disgracing the entire Whitmore family!" "She ignores my calls and messages. Tomorrow, I'll simply publish a statement saying I no longer have a daughter like her!" As Whitmore's father finished speaking, there was another series of crashing sounds. Sophia took a difficult step forward, and as soon as she entered the villa's living room, she was met with her father's tirade. "How dare you show your face here? Do you know what you've done? These days, I don't even dare to answer outside calls or watch the news. You've made our family a laughingstock!" Whitmore's father, his face flushed with rage, jabbed a finger at her and bellowed— "Starting today, I’ll publish a statement declaring that I have no daughter as disgraceful as you! The Whitmore family will cut all ties with you!" Sophia furrowed her brows, pausing briefly before softly saying, "Father, it's not what you think."
