Chapter 20Emma has two weeks to finish the program copy, and her stomach tightens every time she thinks about it. There are only a handful of quilts left to collect, that’s true, and she has pages of notes. Mavis has done a fantastic job of taking notes on all the quilts she’s delivered to Barbara’s office, and Emma will have no problem translating them into copy. So there’s absolutely no need to panic — Except that she also needs to get the press releases out. She’s been emailing with an editor at Carolina Today magazine who’s agreed to run a short piece in the April issue’s “Upcoming Events” column, but she also hopes that the big state papers — The News & Observer in Raleigh, the Asheville Citizen-Times, and The Charlotte Observer — will run longer pieces, and she needs to pitch the st
