Time for Revenge.

Alicia’s POV When I opened my eyes again, the smell of paper and ink-filled my nostrils. I blinked rapidly, trying to adjust to the bright light from the fluorescent bulb. The first thing I looked at were my hands on my thighs. There were no burn marks on them. I was wearing different clothes that weren't my wedding dress. When I looked up, my eyes met tall white walls and a long table before me. I found myself sitting in the conference room of a packaging factory. A factory I knew too well. The whole scene was too familiar. I glanced to my right to see my parents glaring at something on the other side of the desk. Glaring at someone rather. Theo. My heart pounded. I reached up to clutch my head, suddenly feeling like I would faint. This... this was five years before we got married. Five years ago when Theo had found Dahila. I had been reborn. It was unbelievable but it had happened. Right across from me and my parents, Theo sat beside Dahila, their shoulders touching. He brushed her hair with his fingers and muttered whatever was in her ears while she giggled. My stomach rolled at the sight. The man who sat before me, behaving like some complete fool, was the same one who had coldly set me on fire, after making sure I couldn't do anything to escape it. My hands curled into fists. My fingers dug deep into my palm until they drew blood. "Calm down, honey." Mom whispered beside me, making me gasp. She slid her hand over mine. Tears burned the corner of my eyes. What happened in the future when she found out I was burned to death? My parents would be so devastated. I was their only daughter. Their heir. "Do not cry, the jerk doesn't deserve it." "M-Mom," I whimpered, trying to fight back the tears. What on earth would I explain to her? That Theo would try to kill me five years from now on our wedding night? I would look like a crazy person. Well, in this case, I would look like Theo. He looked so lost in his girl that he didn't even notice my parents glaring daggers at him. "Theo?" I called, unable to hide the disgust in my voice. He pulled away from Dahila, sighing like some besotted i***t. “I'm sorry, Alicia. I usually can’t resist Dahila. She pulls me in, all the time. No matter what, I’ll always need her.” My mother flinched. My father’s nostrils flared. Theo continued, unashamed. He even had the guts to give me a 'soft' look. “But Alicia, you’re still my Luna. My first mate. Nothing will change that.” I almost laughed. He believed that he was showing me kindness. "What you're proposing is outrageous," Dad snapped. "You can't have two mates. You pick one and reject the other!" Theo's face turned red. The foolish me from before had thought he was embarrassed, now I could see it was plain anger. Goddess, how blind was I back then? "You don't know what Dahila has been through, Alpha Brett!" He argued. "She was sold as a slave at three. Imagine living as a mere slave at three. I know that omegas are considered pathetic and weak but they're living beings too. Why should they get treated like lesser creatures? Why should Dahila have to go through that?" That was the same thing he had said in my past life. He wanted to make us all feel bad for poor little Dahila. The chick in question had her head bowed, staring at the floor. Theo turned his gaze to me, giving me those beady eyes. “Dahila’s been through too much. You know that, right, Alicia? She's had so much trauma. The goddess must have bonded her to me for a reason. To take care of her. She needs me. Please, let her stay.” Last time, like a foolish girl eager to please the man she loved, I had said yes. I had told him she could stay. I swallowed my pride and feelings, ignored my parent's protests, and said yes. What did I get in return? I got betrayed. I got tortured. I got burnt to death! And the bastard responsible for it all was sitting a few meters across, batting his stupid lashes at me. No! Never again. Not ever again. "It is sad," I said, folding my arms. "What happened to Dahila is sad." He nodded. "Exactly. You get it right? So she can stay? I promise I won't spend more time with her than I will with you." He tossed me a wink and it enraged my wolf further. We are done with him! She growled. “Oh she can stay,” I replied and got shocked looks from my parents. "Alicia, think this through-" I held up a hand to Dad and smiled at him. Trust me. "But I won't be staying, Theo." His head jerked up. “What?” “You heard me,” I shrugged coldly. “She can stay. But I won't be staying." He frowned, rising on his feet. "But I need a Luna to lead my pack!" "Then I guess you'll have to keep looking," I said. "I do not intend to be a second choice-" "You're being ridiculous," Theo snapped. "You can't possibly ask me to choose between you and Dahila," "You're not listening," I said, rising on my feet. "I'm not asking you to choose. You already made your choice. You already chose for yourself. You chose her and I, Alicia, reject you, Theo. I choose me." For a minute, there was pure satisfying silence. Then the pain struck. I bent over as it tore through my chest like a blade of fire, burning through me. Across the room, Theo also doubled over, clutching his chest as he groaned. I had rejected him. The mate bond was snapping. My wolf howled in mourning but I gritted my teeth and endured the pain. No, I welcomed the pain. Compared to the agony of being burned alive, this was nothing. I looked at Theo and watched the agony twist his handsome face. "W-Why?" He asked weakly, holding a hand towards me. I managed a smile. This was only the beginning of the pain that he would feel. I would make him regret betraying me for the rest of his miserable life.
