"I'm Bane, Karma's mate"

It took a lot of strength to not snap his neck. I tried to calm down and relax. Surprisingly, it worked. Bane. Bane. What isn't he the Beta of the Rose pack? I have heard about him a lot. For me, the funniest part was when he was rejected by a girl.

Now that I think about it, Karma rejected him. In front of everyone in his pack. That's very embarrassing. Never in history has a girl rejected their mate. She's the first.

"Bane? The Beta of the Rose pack am I correct?" I asked.

"Ah, so you've heard about me?" Bane asked, amused.

Hmm... So he doesn't know? Hmm, this is going to be interesting.

"Of course I have. How can I not know the second strongest pack?"

"Second? I think you mean the best pack and the strongest one."

I need to act normally as a normal Alpha would. I can't risk being exposed. Not yet, at least.

"No, I mean the second strongest. The Alpha King's pack is the strongest."

"Oh please, they aren't the strongest. Since the Prince hasn't even been heard from. All we know is that he is weak. He isn't even revealed to anyone. The Prince's parents are probably embarrassed by how weak he is. I could easily take him down. Even my sister can take him down."

Those words made my blood boil. Yes, indeed, my parents haven't revealed me to any other pack. So I would blend in. Even when I had to search for my mate in another pack's territory. I always blended in and I'm grateful for that. But it did get annoying.

"If you say so, why don't you challenge me to see if you're strong enough for the Prince?"

"Sure, how about after school on the field? Of course, if you don't back down, I have heard that you are the Alpha of the Claw pack. If I win, I could easily take your pack."

"Agreed., but if you do lose to me, you will have to leave my mate alone."

"It's settled then." He looked at Karma and winked, then walked away. I calmed down and looked at her.

"Why did you do that?" She asked, whispering so I could only hear.

"What, you think I can't take him down? It's my pack he's talking about, and I do want him to leave you alone. Since you are mine, aren't you?" I asked, leaning down. She nodded. Good.

"You should start going to your next class. I need to make a phone call." I said, smiling at her. She nodded and walked off.

I breathed and walked out of school. I mind-linked Vince and Max to come to the car. After a few minutes, they walked out of school and stood in front of me.

"So? What did you want?" Vince asked.

"Both of you make sure all the werewolves will be on the field sitting on the bleachers," I said.

"Why? What are you going to do?" Max asked, confused. I just smirk.

"There's going to be a fight."

"Who against who?" Vince asked quickly.

"Me against Bane. Remember? The guy who got rejected by a girl in front of everyone?" I said, chuckling.

"Oh, yea! Do you know who the girl is? I would love to know. She's pretty brave to reject a Beta in front of everyone. Oh god, I can even imagine how he felt." Max said, laughing.

"I found out who the girl is just a few minutes ago," I said, chuckling.

"Dude, you have to tell us," Vince said.

"Karma," I said, smirking. No, I'm not mad. I'm amused by it. My mate embarrassed a Beta of the Rose pack. Everyone who saw it laughed at him. At least, that's what I've heard.

The shock on their faces was priceless. I laughed at them.

"Karma? As in your mate? As in Karma, Beta of the Shadow pack? Are we talking about the same Karma?" They both asked.

I nodded. "Anyway, I need to go for a run. I haven't turned for two weeks or more. So spread the word about the fight, alright? Oh, and keep an eye on Bane. I don't want him near my mate." They nod and walk back to school.

I started walking but stopped. f**k. I had my first lesson with her. I said I was going to make a phone call, and if I didn't show up she might get suspicious. I walked back to school and into the classroom.

While I was sitting next to her, I saw how Bane was looking at her. He wanted her, but he was not going to get her. I just need a run and I'll be fine for the fight. If not, I might expose myself in front of everyone.

Class ended and I walked out of the school grounds and went for a run. Before shifting, I made sure no one was following me. When I was sure, I shifted.

When I got back, the last lesson for everyone was about to end and I went straight to the field.

When I shift, my clothes don't get ripped, so that's good.

I was waiting on the field then I saw a lot of people running to see the fight. Then I saw Bane with a few of the Rose pack members.

He walked towards me and stood in front of me, twelve feet away. We waited for a few minutes and, finally, I saw every single werewolf student sitting on the bleachers. From the Nerds to the Bad guysgirls. No disrespect to women. I've seen that some girls are braver than guys.

Finally, let's get this over with, but I do want to have fun while doing it.

"You can walk off now, but you won't be an Alpha anymore, Blake. So what will it be?" Bane asked with a smirk. His hands are in his front pockets.

"Why would you think that? Do you think you're strong enough? Do you seriously think I would back out of a challenge? That's so low of you." I said calmly. Laughing on the inside.

Now it's time to get into his head a little. Let's make him angry, pissed. I want to see how he would attack me with his full anger.

"I have heard about you and Karma. It's all around. Cheating on her with another girl? In the middle of the forest, close to the border? It's like you wanted her to see it. The being rejected in the pack center? It's common for a male to reject a female, but a female rejecting a male? It's just to laugh at" I said, laughing.

I saw him getting angry. Well, who wouldn't? In front of all the werewolf students, not everyone knew about this, so why not embarrass him more?

He quickly shifted into his wolf form, his brown and white fur showing power. Was I scared? No. Was I having fun? A lot.

"Are you going to shift or are you going to stand there like a statue?" Bane growled at me. I laugh on the inside.

"I don't need to. It's going to be a fast fight, so why should I?" I said.

I was standing over his wolf form. When he tried to kick me with his back legs, I grabbed one of his legs. I looked straight into his eyes with a smirk and broke it, quickly. I heard everyone gasp. So I let go of his leg and started walking towards them. I stopped and looked at every single person.

"Anyone else?" I asked with a smirk. Everyone shook their heads quickly and they started walking away.

I looked at Karma and started walking toward her. I pulled her into my chest. I put my head in the crook of her neck and inhaled her scent.

She's mine and mine alone. Anyone who touches her. Their faith will be worse than what I did to Bane.

I pulled back and smiled at her.

"Shall we go?" I asked her. She nodded and we started walking but stopped when one of her friends called her name. We turned around and saw Lilly staring at us with the other girls.

"Karma! Where are you going?" Lilly asked. I saw Karma standing still like she didn't know what to say, so I looked at them and said.

"She's coming with me. Is there a problem, Lilly? Alexandra? Alice? Luce?" They all smirked. I know that smirk. I've seen it a lot.

"Not at all Alpha Blake," Luce said, giggling.

I can see she's respectful. I'm surprised that Karma didn't even tell her friends about who I am. But then again we asked her not to. Good to know she hadn't broken her promise.

I wrapped my arm around her waist and started walking to my car. Vince and Max stood there smirking at us.

"Let me guess you broke something?" Max asked. I nodded and went to open the passenger seat for her. She hopped in and I closed the car door. Max and Vince sat in the back, me in the driver's seat. No one can drive this car, only me, but Karma can drive it too if she wishes.

As we drove, we talked about the fight and laughed. When I looked at Karma, I saw her thinking.

What was she thinking about? Did she feel bad for Bane? At the thought of that, I felt my blood start to boil. I tried to calm down, but I couldn't.

When we were back at the house, I brought Karma to my, I mean our room, and we sat on the bed.

"Something wrong kitten?" I asked. I think she felt the anger in my voice. She nodded and looked at me, taking her blindfold off.

"I'm just curious..." She said with a low voice.

"What is it? You can ask me anything. You know that, right?" I asked her, a bit concerned.

"I-I wanted to know... I mean... I want to see..."

"What do you wanna see? I will show you anything you want as long as you are happy. I want to see you happy. Don't be nervous about asking me anything," I said.

I want her to know that she could ask me anything. If she wants to go to the beach, I will take her. If she wants to go shopping, I will take her. Even if it's expensive, I will buy it. Money isn't a problem. I want her to be happy.

She breathed and I waited patiently. Then she asked the question I didn't expect her to ask.

"Can I see you in your wolf form?" She asked, looking into my eyes.

She wants to see me in my wolf form. I knew she would want to see it, but I didn't expect her to ask this question so soon.

I breathed and looked at her, with a smile.

"Anything you want. Of course, but when I turn, don't make sudden movements."
