Chapter - 19

"I'm Blake, Karma's mate, and you?" He asked him.

"I'm Bane, Karma's mate"

What?! How can he say that? He isn't my mate anymore. I rejected him a year ago! Why is he even here? If he thinks I'll get back together with him, he should think again!

"Bane? The Beta of the Rose pack, am I correct?" He asked surprisingly calmly. How can he be so calm? He just said he was my mate and he's calm about it?

"Ah, so you've heard about me?" Bane asked, amused.

"Of course I have. How can I not know the second strongest pack?"

"Second? I think you mean the best pack and the strongest one."

"No, I mean the second strongest. The Alpha King's pack is the strongest."

"Oh please, they aren't the strongest. Since the Prince hasn't even been heard from. All we know is that he is weak. He isn't even revealed to anyone. The Prince's parents are probably embarrassed by how weak he is. I could easily take him down. Even my sister can take him down."

"If you say so, why don't you challenge me to see if you're strong enough for the Prince?"

Oh no. He did not just challenge him. Doesn't he know that he is the Prince?

"Sure, how about after school on the field? Of course, if you don't back down, I have heard that you are the Alpha of the Claw pack. If I win, I could easily take your pack."

"Agreed., but if you do lose to me you will have to leave my mate alone."

"It's settled then." He looked at me and winked, then he just walked off.

I shook my head and whispered.

"Why did you do that?"

"What, you think I can't take him down? It's my pack he's talking about, and I do want him to leave you alone. Since you are mine, aren't you?" he asked, leaning down. I just nod.

"You should start going to your next class. I need to make a phone call," he said. I nodded and went to my next class.

I still don't understand. Bane just said I'm his mate and he's calm about it? Or was he acting calmly, but on the inside he wanted to rip him apart? I still don't understand him.

I walked to class and on the way there I saw Ashley with her little sluts.

Why do I call them sluts? Well, because in the first week here, I saw them change their boyfriends just like I change my socks. New day, new guy.

I have heard from other girls that they had 'fun' with them before they broke up. If you know what I mean by that, disgusting.

I was passing through them when Ashley grabbed my arm. I quickly shook her arm off and looked at her.

"It's nice to see my brother, isn't it? If you do get back together with him, then you can hang with us. You know. Like old times. Remember?" She said with a smile.

Like old times? No thank you. I don't want to hurt others. I don't want to be with her or her sluts. I don't want to be any part of her group or her pack. It's trouble. Yes, they are the second strongest pack, but that doesn't mean I want to be with them.

The Shadow pack is the third strongest pack. My brother made sure to stay in that position. He doesn't want the pack to get weak again, because the weaker the pack, the more attacked they get.

I just shake my head and continue walking to class. When I made it to class, the teacher looked at me like a ghost. I ignored her stare and went to sit in the back.

After a minute, the bell rings and the class floods in with students, and, of course, Bane. Luckily, Blaze was in my class, which will save me from his annoying voice.

Classes passed by quickly and before I knew it, I saw everyone rushing outside on the track.

I almost forgot about the fight between Blake aka Blaze and Bane. I went to the track and saw all the werewolves sitting on the bleachers and Blake and Bane in the middle of the field. I sat in the front. Since I saw my friends there.

"I can't believe Blake challenged Bane. It's like a death wish," Alexandra said.

I hit her with my elbow and she lowered her head. Then I heard them talking.

"You can walk off now, but you won't be an Alpha anymore, Blake. So what will it be?" Bane asked with a smirk. His hands are in his front pockets.

"Why would you think that? Do you think you're strong enough? Do you seriously think I would back out of a challenge? That's so low of you. Beta Bane," Blake said calmly.

"I have heard about you and Karma. It's all around. Cheating on her with another girl? In the middle of the forest, close to the border? It's like you wanted her to see it. The being rejected in the pack center? It's common for a male to reject a female, but a female rejecting a male? It's just to laugh at", Blake said, chuckling.

Bane was getting pissed. I try to hold in my laughter and succeed. Not a second later, Bane shifts into his wolf form.

He's big but not as big as an Alpha. His brown and white fur shows power.

"Are you going to shift or are you going to stand there like a statue?" Bane growled at him.

"I don't need to. It's going to be a quick fight, so why should I?" Blake said.

Blake starts running towards him when he leaps in for the kill. Blake just moves to the side, causing Bane to land head-first on the ground. Everyone started laughing.

He stood up and shook his head. He turned around and faced him. He leaped in for another kill but he just moved to the side again. This time Bane landed on his feet.

"Are you going to fight or just dodge?"

"I can if you want."

Bane attacks him but he moves to the side, then grabs his tail and spins him around, around, around. I think you get it. When he lets go, Bane lands on his back. Blake calmly walked to him and stood over him.

"Are you done?" Blake asked, amused.

Bane tries to push him away from him, but Blake catches one of his back legs and breaks it in a second. Everyone gasped.

Blake starts walking towards everyone, then stops.

"Anyone else?" He asked with a smirk. I saw everyone shake their heads and start walking away.

Blake starts walking towards me and pulls me into his chest. He put his head in the crook of my neck and inhaled my scent. I put my hands on his shoulders. When he pulled back, I saw love and happiness in his eyes. I just smiled at him.

"Shall we go?" He asks and I nod.

We started walking but Lilly shouted my name.

"Karma! Where are you going?" I stood still. When I was about to reply, Blake beat me to it.

"She's coming with me. Is there a problem, Lilly? Alexandra? Alice? Luce?"

I looked at them and saw them smirking. I hate them. Not actually.

"Not at all Alpha Blake," Luce said, giggling.

He nods and wraps an arm around my waist and we start walking. When we reach the parking lot, I see Vince and Max smirking.

"Let me guess you broke something?" Max asked. I saw Blake nod. He opened the passenger seat for me and I hopped in. Max and Vince got in the backseat and Blake in the driver's seat.

As we drove back to their territory. They were talking about the fight that happened and laughed. I can agree it was funny when he didn't even turn into his wolf form and broke his leg in a second. The way he whined at the pain. The way he was defeated.

For him, he was just a lowly pack Alpha that defeated him. But to us, he was defeated by the Alpha Prince.

But one thought crossed my mind...
