The entire room was so quiet that one could even hear a pin drop. Some of them stared confusedly at Wendy and me while some of the others lowered their heads as they seemed to be stifling their laughter. Perhaps it was because of the ridiculous netting on my forehead.
Wendy scanned the room to examine the reaction of everyone present before speaking up calmly, "Mr. Johnson, Richard was indeed taken away by the police a couple of days ago but that was a misunderstanding that has been cleared up. The investigation outcome was quite clear and he did not break any law locally."
I continued her sentence and smiled at him silkily. "Otherwise, I would be in prison right now. I wouldn't be sitting here drinking alcohol with you, Mr. Johnson. Isn't that so?"
