Welcome to My World.

*Drakes POV* I wasn't impressed that Riken was spending the night with Myra. Not impressed in the slightest bit! He always seems to get the girls I always want. Its a given that he wanted this one too. But, I'll tell you what, I'll be damned if he gets her in the end. For some reason, something drew me to this girl. I don't know if it was her smile. Her laugh. Her snarky attitude. Or if it was the fact that for the first time, a girl actually put me in check when it came to my ego. Maybe it was the fact that for the first time in my life, I had a meaningful conversation with a girl. But, I'm happy it was her. "Hey Drake, lets go outside for a minute." Cooper said to me. "Why?" "Because man, lets just go outside for a minute." I looked at Elizabeth and told her I would be right back. Cooper and I walked outside. "Alright man, what's going on with you?" he asked me. "Nothing, why?" "Drake, I've been your best friend since we were 4 years old. As soon as you saw Riken and Myra, your face automatically turned red. Now what's going on?" "You know what Coop, I don't know. OK?" "What do you mean you don't know? Do you like her or something?" "What? Me? God no. How could I like her. I barely even know her. I just met her yesterday. All we did was talk this morning and I made her feel better. She talked to me, and I listened. That doesn't mean I like her." "Oh my god." "What?" "You like her." "Maybe, I don't know." "Drake Michael Adams. Not once have I ever heard you say 'I listened' when it comes to talking to a girl." I stared at Cooper for a minute. "You do like her." "Cooper shut up!" "Drake." "You cant tell anyone yet, OK?" "And in other words, you have a plan to get her. But is that plan going to work to get her away from Riken?" *Myra's POV* "OK, you showed me an important part of your life." I said to Riken while walking down the hall after getting my key. "I did." "Now, its my turn." I said as I unlocked the door at the end of the hall. We walked in to the room and his eyes got wide. "Wow, what is all this." "This Riken Adams, is my music room." The room was filled with all of the instruments I can play. The walls were covered in shelves all filled with old records for the record player. There were racks full of CD's. And all of my DJ equipment was set up and there was a big couch right in the center of the room. "This is amazing!" he said as he looked at the music covered walls. "All of this is yours?" he asked. "It is. I can play all seven of the instruments in here. I've listened to every record, every CD." "So, what's the significance behind it all?" "Well, my grandfather was a classical and modern music professor at Julliard. When I was 5, he bought me my first violin. And I learned how to play it with in a year. So every year up until he passed away, he bought me a new instrument to learn how to play." "When did he die?" "He died when Micha and I had just turned 12. Which is also when music became a passion. Not just a hobby." "What do you mean." I walked over to my rack and pulled out a CD that I had made and popped it in the stereo and grabbed the remote. Went and sat on the couch, and he fallowed behind and sat down with me. "You had a different story for each place at the park. I have a different story for each song on this CD, there's 6 of them. I remember the day, the time, what I was doing for each and every one of them." I pushed play. The first song was Behind Blue Eyes by Limp Bizkit. No one knows what it's like To be the bad man To be the sad man Behind blue eyes And no one knows What it's like to be hated To be fated to telling only lies But my dreams they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance That's never free "Have you ever heard this song?" I asked him. "Maybe once or twice. OK, a lot more then that. Limp Bizkit used to be my favorite band." "Limp Bizkit isn't my favorite band, but, this is my favorite song." "So, what's the story behind it." "Well, about a month after my grandfather passed away, my dad and I were driving to gymnastics practice, and he turned on this radio channel that I had never heard before. This was the song that was playing. I turned to him and asked him what it was called, and he told me." "So, why's it important to you?" "That was the day I fell in love with music. Well, I wouldn't say music in general. More like the lyrics. Before that day, I'd always just listen to the beat of a song, but never listened to what the song was really saying. But, something about it made me want to listen. And the fact that I listened made me think about my grandfather. I would always ask him what the most important part of a song was, the words or the beat. He always told me the most important part was what made me love the song. Then, when I turned 12, I asked again. That was the last time I asked him, because when he answered, all he did was hum a tune. I asked him if he was going to answer, then he looked at me and said 'You see my point?' I asked him what the point was and he said 'Nothing really makes sense without words, whether it be an answer, a question, or a song.' This was the first song I had actually let the words be louder then the instruments." "Who knew one song could mean so much to someone." I clicked the next button and the song that came on was The Mixed Tape by Jacks Mannequin. This is morning That's when I spend the most time Thinking 'bout what I've given up This is a warning When you start the day just to close the curtains You're thinking 'bout what I've given up Where are you now? As I'm swimming through the stereo I'm writing you a symphony of sound Where are you now? As I rearrange the songs again This mix could burn a hole in anyone But it was you I was thinking of "OK, what's this one?" Riken asked "This is called The Mixed Tape by Jacks Mannequin." "I've never heard of them. What's the story?" "Well, in all honesty, I had never heard of them until I was a freshman. This song, is the song that made me want to become a music teacher." "Why this song though?" "Do you think its a good song?" "I actually really like it, I think its great!" "That's why. Whenever I play this song around people, they always ask what its called and say they have never heard of the band. I want to make bands be noticed for the quality of their music, not based on how well known they are, or how people base everything they listen to off of the people they're around. Because if I learned anything about music, its that the small bands who go un noticed, always seem to have more meaning behind their words. I want to have the opportunity to make those bands let their words actually be heard." "'I've never met anyone who was this passionate about anything. And I love that your letting me know the reasons you're so in love with it." We kept listening. Each song had a different story. Swing Life Away by Machine Gun Kelly - it taught me that you can come from the lowest of the low places, but still end up making a name and a life for yourself if you stick to what you love. Little Things by One Direction - it taught me that the little things people do for you are what matters the most, like knowing someone's favorite movie, or color, or song. Or buying someone's favorite candy for them if they're having a bad day. It's the small things that let us know someone's actually listening. Fifteen by Taylor Swift - it taught me that you can be extremely naive when you're young, but as long as you learn from your mistakes, everything thing will be fine. And it made me believe that no matter what, you'll always find the one you love whether you're 15 or 30 wen you find them. And last but not least, Battle Scars by Lupe Fiasco. The wound heals but it never does That's 'cause you're at war with love You're at war with love, yeah These battle scars don't look like they're fading Don't look like they're ever going away They ain't never gonna change These battle Never let a wound ruin me But I feel like ruins wooing me Arrow holes that never close from cupid on a shooting spree Feeling stupid 'cause I know it ain't no you and me But when you're trying to beat the odds up Been trying to keep your nods up and you know that you should know And let her go but the fear of the unknown Holding another lover strong sends you back into the zone With no Tom Hanks to bring you home A lover not a fighter on the front line with a poem Trying to write yourself a rifle Maybe sharpen up a song To fight the tanks and drones of you being alone "I absolutely love this song." he said. "I do too, for the simple fact that it gave me hope." "Hope?" "Hope that I can get over Dakota, no matter how much he broke me. It gave me hope that I'll be able to find someone who actually means the words 'I love you' even though I went to war and back with the person who was supposed to be my forever when it came to love. And it made me realize I'll never forget what he actually put me through, but what I did go through, makes me the strongest person that I know." "I don't know what he did, and something tells me I really don't want too, but I can tell by how you carry yourself, you're by far one of the strongest girls I have ever met." We took turns going around the room picking out songs whether they be older or newer, and just listened to the words and we talked about what we think the words were really trying to say.  "Wow, its 3 A.M and I'm starving." "Well, lets go down to the kitchen and get some snacks then." We walked down to the kitchen and saw my brothers and their friends all sitting around the table. "Are you sure you guys are really in your music room? Because I don't hear any type of music blaring." Blake asked. "Maybe they were up their making music of their own." Jordan said as he winked. "Yes Blake, we're in the music room. The music's just down because we're talking. Like normal people do on a first date. Well, what you're supposed to do on a first date, seeing as you two seem to think it's sleeping together." "We just got hungry and wanted to come down and get some snacks." "Its nice to see you're still clothed kid." Micha said. "Mic, first off, shut up. And two, no clothes will be shed tonight. From ANYONE in this house." I said eyeing down all the girls. Especially the one Drake was with. I don't know why it made me so jealous. But it did. "Well, get your snacks, and leave us alone." Micha said. "Oh we'd be glad too." We grabbed our snacks and headed up stairs once again. We spent the rest of our night just talking, joking, laughing, and throwing fruit snacks at one another trying to catch them with our mouths. Just as we were falling asleep, Riken looked to my end of the couch and smiled. "You know, I'm kind of someone who enjoys being held when I fall asleep." I told him. "Well, I can definitely do that. Get down here." I crawled to his end of the couch and laid beside him with his arm around me and my leg over his hips. "Best. Date. Ever." he said as we continued to listen to the music. We slowly fell asleep. Only to be woken up at 11:00 to someone standing in the open doorway checking on me, yelling "What the hell is going on!" Blake.
