*Myra's POV*
The next morning, I woke up wondering if it was all just a dream, until I walked down stairs and saw my kitchen was full of boys.
"Good morning honey." my mom said as I walked in to the room.
"Morning Momma." I said back.
The 5 boys all sitting at the island turned, looked at me, and said good morning. My attention for some reason went right to Drake smiling at me.
"Well, isn't that something." my mom said looking at me.
"Isn't what something?" I asked.
"This is the first time I've seen you actually smile in a really long time."
"Yeah Myra, isn't that something." Blake said in a curious tone. Then I noticed him follow the direction I was staring in and his facial expression went from curious, to agitated.
Isn't he the one who told me it was okay to like someone again?
Maybe, he didn't mean one of his new friends, like Dakota had been when he moved to Minnesota.
"Why exactly are you smiling My?" he asked.
I didn't know how to respond to that, so I said the first thing that came to my head.
"Uh, today's my first day of music through the ages."
Which, wasn't a complete lie, I was extremely excited for it. Music is by far, the only thing that's gotten me through the past year.
"Oh, you're taking that class too?" Drake asked.
"Yeah, I want to go to school to be a music teacher."
"I thought you were gonna go for performing arts?" Micha asked.
"When are you guys going to give it a rest?"
They all gave me a blank expression.
"OK, I'm going to get dressed, then I'm leaving."
"We're gonna ride to school with Drake, Jordan, and Cooper, so you get your stereo all to yourself." Micha said.
"Yeah, while you're driving, you can come up with a better answer to the 'Why are you smiling' question, instead of lying to me." Blake said.
"Blake, that's enough, Myra, go get ready."
I had decided on a dark blue pair of jean shorts, an Aztec designed flowing tank top with elephants on it, and a pair of plain white sneakers. I did my make-up, straightened my hair, then off to school I went.
*Drake POV*
We got to school, and I went about my day like I normally do.
Except for the fact that I went to Mrs. Cartwright and begged her to put me in Music Through the Ages.
After an hour, she finally agreed to put me in and I couldn't have been more relieved. That was a whole class I got to get to know Myra.
It was lunch when all of us were at Blake's locker.
"Is there ever going to be a day where we can stand in the hallway and eyes aren't glued to my sister?" Micha asked.
"Well dude, probably not. But I doubt any of them are going to catch her attention." I replied.
"Uh, Drake. Don't be to sure of that." Jordan said pointing down the hall.
I saw red.
*Myra's POV*
I was at my locker before lunch when someone walked up behind me.
"Hi."
"Uh, hi." I said as I turned around.
"I'm Riken."
"That's an interesting name."
"What can I say, my parents knew I'd be interesting before I did."
"Are you actually interesting though?"
"Eat lunch with me and find out." he smiled at me.
"Twippy." I heard someone yell from down the hall. I knew automatically who it was because there's only one person who calls me that. And he calls the other one of us Twappy.
I turned around and saw my brothers and their friends staring at me.
"Friends of yours?" he asked.
"Uh, the two bigger ones are actually my brothers. Ones a senior, and the other ones my twin."
"Wait, twin? Now you have to eat lunch with me, you know. To tell me if twin-telepathy is a real thing."
"Twippy" my brother yelled again. "Lets go."
"I wish I could, but, I don't think it's such a good idea."
"Maybe some other time then?"
"I'll think about it."
I started to walk away when I heard Riken yell. "Wait, I didn't catch your name!"
"It's Myra!"
I walked up to a very agitated Blake and Micha.
"And who was that?" Blake asked.
"Seriously?" I asked.
"Yeah, My, seriously." Micha said.
"What is with the fifth degree. Blake you literally told me the other night that it was ok to like someone again."
"Did you Blake?"
"Well, yeah, but I didn't mean a random ass dude."
"OK, you know what. He's actually very nice and I turned down a lunch offer to keep you guys from going all 'protective brother' on me and guess what, you guys are still doing it. So, to avoid the fifth degree that I know I'm going to get, I'm going to go have lunch with someone whose questions that I'd actually like to answer!"
I walked away and found Riken as soon as I walked in the cafe.
"Riken!"
"Myra."
"Does the lunch offer still stand?"
"What about brothers?"
"Brothers, need to learn to let me make my own choices."
"Well, I'm happy this is the choice you made."
We got our lunch, and sat down at a table in the court yard.
"So, Riken, tell me about you."
"Wait, really?"
"Yes, really."
"Normally, girls just want to talk about themselves."
"HA, not this one. So seriously, tell me about your life. Any siblings, sports, what do you like to do."
"Well, I have two brothers, one older, one younger. I have a little sister. I play football, basketball, and I swim. I dabble a bit in golf. I'm pretty big in to movies. But honestly there's way to much to even tell you before the lunch periods over, and I really want to hear about you."
"Well, I'm from a small town in Minnesota. I have two brothers. I grew up around a football field because of the boys. I play around a bit with basketball. But I was a cheerleader, I'm a gymnast, and I know my way around a volley ball court like the back of my hand. I'm big in to music, and movies, and I read quite a bit."
We continued to talk during the whole lunch period, but I could feel eyes from cross the quad burning a hole in the back of my head.
*Drakes POV*
"OK, whose the kid trying to get with my sister?" Micha asked.
"Well, that's Riken. He's on the football team, plays basketball. He's also slept with 3/4 of the girls in our school. Any thing you want to add Drake?" Jordan said.
I rolled my eyes. "He's also my older brother."
"Should I be worried?" Blake asked.
"Man, you're her brother, you should always worry. But, with Riken, I'd worry a little extra." Cooper said.
"Great.."
*Myra's POV*
The day went by pretty quick.
The bell rang, I stopped at my locker and headed to the car.
I felt someone grab my shoulder, and thanks to Dakota, my instinct was to whip around and swing. And my god, thank god he leaned back.
"Whoah slugger, it's just me!" Riken said as he leaned.
"I'm so sorry! It's an instinct."
"It's alright. You've got a mean left swing though!"
"Did I mention I box?"
"The more I talk to you, the more interesting you get!"
"The more you know!"
"That's the thing. I want to know."
"You do?"
"I do, which is why, I wanted to know if you wanted to go out tonight. Dinner, a little place that means a lot to me?"
I thought for a minute.
"You know what, I'd love to."
"I'll pick you up at 6:30?"
"Uh, yeah, here's my number."
I took his phone and put my number in.
"I'll see you later" he smiled as he walked away.
I got to my car and saw my brothers and their friends walking over.
"Can we speed it up? I've got things to do!"
They started to run, got in the car, and I started driving.
"So, you have things to do?" Blake asked me.
"Uh, I have plans."
"OO, is she hot." Micha asked.
"Well."
"Myra." Blake said crossing his arms.
"I have a date with Riken."
For some reason, everyone in the car's faces turned concerned.
We pulled up in to the drive way.
"OK, I swear to god, do not say anything to Mom and Dad."
"Alright Myra."
As soon as those guys got out of the car they sprinted to the house.
"DAD."
"DAD."
"DAD."
"DAD."
They both screamed as they ran through the front door.
"Micha, Blake, shut the fu--"
"Watch your language Myra. Boys, what's going on."
"Myra. Has. A. Date. Tonight." Micha said trying to catch his breath.
"Sheila." my dad yelled to my mom.
"Yes dear."
"Change of plans, we're not leaving till 6:30."
"And why would we do that dear."
"Because our daughter has a date tonight, and we need to meet this boy before she leaves."
