Taking It Slow.

*Drake's POV* I had no clue how this talk with Myra was going to go. But, I needed to have an open mind. It could go the way I want, and we'll give it a shot, or it's just not our time. I'm trying my hardest to understand that she's gone through a lot of things in the past, but I really want her to understand that I want to help her though it all. No matter if she wants to be with me or not. But, I have to give it a shot. *Myra's POV* I went upstairs and automatically called my mom. M; hello? MY; sorry I didn't call you back earlier, I just had a really bad day. M; I'm sorry honey. did something happen with you and that boy? MY; you could say that I guess. lets just say its no longer an ongoing concern. M; I'm sorry honey, maybe it's for the best? MY; it absolutely is, and when you guys come home Tuesday, don't say anything about my eye. I hit it off the gate feeding Bradberry and Colby. M; is it that bad? MY; Blake told me I look like an albino raccoon whose eyes were still black. M; oh well that was sweet of him. Just then I heard someone in the doorway, "Can I talk to you?" MY; Mom, I've got to go, I'll call you after school tomorrow. M; OK honey, I love you. MY; love you too ma. I hung up the phone. "Come on in." I was extremely nervous about what he wanted to talk about, because I already knew what it was. *Drake's POV* "We both knew this was coming." I said to her. "Did we?" She asked. "After that, it kind of seemed inevitable, don't you think?" "Yeah, I kind of expected it." "So, lets talk about it." "Well, what do you want to know about it?" "Myra, do you want to be with me?" "Honestly Drake, I don't know what I want. I know that I like you. And I know that I meant what I said in the song. If you want to get to know me, I'll let you. And if you want me to get to know you I will. It's just--" "You've been through so much in the past that it scares you to think about another relationship now. And after what happened with Riken today, I understand why. But, I want you to understand that I want to be there for you through it, trying to get to who you want to be." "And I appreciate it Drake. I really do. But, if we're going to make anything out of, whatever this is, because there's obviously something going on between us, I want to take it slow." "That's fine with me. But, I need you to do something for me." "What's that?" "If I start moving to fast, you need to tell me. I've never done the whole 'taking it slow' thing before, so its all new to me." "Oh trust me, I'll tell you if we're moving to fast." "We should probably set some ground rules first." "We should. Do you want to go first or should I?" "You can." "If either of us aren't feeling it anymore, we tell the other." "Fair enough. If our grades start to plummet, we take a break." "My grades wont plummet, and if yours start to, I'm an excellent tutor." "Alright then. Anything else." "How about nothing s****l with other people?" "Which includes?" "Kissing, making out, anything below the neck." "I can agree to that." "Can you?" "Yes, I can. If it means we have a possible future together, absolutely." "Alright then. That's all I've got. Anything from you?" "Yeah." "Well, what is it?" "That you go to homecoming with me." "I think I can manage that." She smiled at me. "Drake are you coming back down? We need to talk to you!" Micha yelled from downstairs. "I think you're wanted downstairs there bub." "I think I am too. But, now that we're doing this, can you put your number in my phone?" "Whoah there Boo Bear, you're moving too fast." "Ha Ha very funny." I said as I handed her my phone. "There ya go." "Thank you. I'll see you in the morning." "Goodnight." "Goodnight." I gave her a kiss on the cheek and walked out of the room. I walked down the stairs and out on to the patio with the rest of the guys. "Took you long enough." Cooper said. "So, what's the verdict?" Blake asked. "We're gonna try. But, we're going to take things slow. With some ground rules." "You? Take things slow? In what world?" Jordan asked. "In a world where I can actually see myself dating someone. And that I actually like a girl. For real like a girl." "Holy s**t you really are serious about this aren't you?" Jordan asked again. "As serious as the fact that I asked her to homecoming when I've never gone on a date or taken someone to a dance." "Holy shit." "OK, so lets get down to business." Blake said. "Lets hear it." I said. "I just got off the phone with my parents, who are on the phone with Nate's parents right now." Micha said. "And mom just texted me saying that we're good to stay at Nate's house because they'll be up at camp." "Guys, what's going on?" "Well. I promised Myra that our first long weekend we had, that I'd talk to my parents about going to Minnesota for the weekend." "So, we're gonna see where the Rumford's come from?" Jordan asked. "Absolutely. My parents already called all of yours." Blake Said. "We'll leave Thursday after school for the airport, and be there Friday morning. But, Myra's not to know! Nate is going to surprise her." Micha said "Whose Nate?" I asked. "Myra and Nate have been best friends since they were 3." Blake said. "Great." "Now back to the Myra and Drake thing." Micha said. "What about it." "How about, what are you gonna say to my dad when he finds out." "Shit." "s**t? You're gonna say shit." "No, s**t, as in I didn't even think about it." "Well, you better think about it soon. Because they'll be home Tuesday morning." Shit.
