In the last few days, Braven agonized over how exactly to get Aida to come close to him.
A planning proposal that his father had placed on the coffee table attracted him. The opportunity to capture the heart of his girl came as expected!
As a leader in the design world, Windwood Group's annual design banquet is being planned.
This year's banquet is scheduled for September 18th, a week from now. Fashionistas and designers from all places would attend it. It is also a great time to talk business and make business friends.
In the past, Braven would not care anything about the company at all.
However, he asked for the banquet invitation list from Caro, the Secretary of his father.
To his delight, Aida was indeed on the invitation list.
Although she was still a college student, she had won many prizes in various design competitions, which made her rise to prominence in the design world.
As a local unwritten rule, no matter how big or small, all the design-related banquets in the city will invite the designers who have won various design awards in the current year to come and participate in them, knowing that the world of the design industry will be theirs in the future.
On the first page of the list of new designers, Aida's name was first on the list.
Staring at Aida's name, Braven had a plan in mind.
Braven went downstairs to see her father sitting on the couch reading the newspaper, and his grandmother with a magnifying glass was intently studying stock trends.
Upon hearing Braven's footsteps, Grandma immediately lifted her head and met her gaze up. Other than stocks, she was most concerned about this precious grandson of hers.
"Braven, come and talk with Grandma. "
Braven slightly accelerated a few steps, walked to his grandmother, sat down obediently, then put his arms around her and gave her a big kiss.
Crewe lifted his eyelids, with the newspaper still in his hands, and said as he turned it over, "What's up?"
Grandma glanced at Crewe, held her grandson's hand and said, "If there's anything you want to do, feel free to talk to grandma!"
"Grandma, I want to attend the company's banquet this year. "
Crewe was unable to hide his happiness. He put down the newspaper and looked at his son, "Are you serious?"
"Of course, "Braven said quickly.
"But you've always hated these occasions!"
In fact, he had always hoped that his son could care for the company's affairs more often. The banquet has been held for five years. Since Braven went to college, he has asked Braven to participate in it almost every year, even if just appearing there. But Braven refused to go. As the banquet was drawing near, he directly turned off his phone. Nobody could find him.
So his father felt a little surprised by his words.
"I just want to learn more about the company. "
Grandma was naturally happy to hear her grandson say that.
Crewe said to Braven in a very serious manner, "You must get on stage and make a speech. "
"Okay, that's a deal. "
Braven answered so quickly, making Braven quite surprised.
In fact, Braven wanted to go on stage to tell everybody that he liked Aida!
Crewe just thought that his son had grown up! He was also trying to take this opportunity to introduce the future president to all the employees throughout the company.
On September 18, Braven stayed at home. He looked indifferent on the surface, but he was very nervous on the inside.
The speech draft was revised several times and finalized on the last day.
What no one knew was that after the speech was over, there was a link added by Braven himself, where he would invite Aida to go on stage! This was what many designers were looking forward to!
He wanted to let Aida realize that she could not live without him in her career path!
There were still four hours to go before the banquet.
Braven stood in front of the mirror and looked at himself.
A ray of sunlight slanted through the French window, seemingly casting a thin layer of mist over the entire room.
Clothes were scattered on the floor, bed, and chairs, and the room was in a mess.
Braven usually wore high-quality clothes, and almost every set of clothes was carefully selected by himself. Now he couldn't seem to get a suitable one!
In fact, no matter what he wore, he would become the main of attention.
In the end, he chose a new black suit and a blue tie. His hair was dark, his dark eyebrows stood out, and he was full of spirit.
Grandma saw her handsome grandson coming downstairs. She smiled with relief. It was what the heir to the family business should look like!
Grandma turned around again and said to Crewe, who was putting on his jacket, “Look at your son. Blue comes from green but surpasses it. ”
Braven gave his grandmother a grimace, “Grandma, I'm leaving first!”
“Let the driver send you there! You're on your way. . . . . . ”Before Grandma could finish her words, he had disappeared.
Braven's father frowned and complained to his mother, “Look, he doesn't even pay attention to his manners. It's all because you spoiled him!”
“We needn't any more manners. I think my grandson is quite good, living a life of true character and style! You are quite unlike me. You live in intrigues all day long. It's too tired!”
“Come on, mother!”Crewe was helpless. He looked at his watch, took another sip of his herbal tea, and said, “I have to get going. ”
Windwood Group's banquets never let their guests down in the slightest.
This banquet will be held in the Benfan Mansion. The largest banquet hall on the second floor of the building was decorated in an extremely grand and opulent manner, with a few blue crystal lights in the center of the ceiling being particularly dazzling. A crystal emitted a light blue beam, which then reflected on its respective mirror, making the entire hall appear a light blue color. The entire hall was filled with a cool and charming atmosphere with the bright style of jazz music.
At around 5:30 pm, the guests began to enter one after another.
Braven also walked into the banquet hall along with a few guests.
Since he usually seldom attended the company's events, not many people recognized him at the scene.
Crewe also entered the banquet hall.
Ann was the first to see Braven's father, and she almost jogged to him. She went up to him and held his arm intimately, and called out “Uncle” daintily.
“Ann, have you seen Braven?”
“Is Braven here?”Ann's voice carried obvious joy, and her eyes immediately began to search the banquet hall.
“Go find him, he's dressed up especially handsome today! You will definitely like it!”Crewe said smilingly.
“Uncle, then you get busy first!” Said Ann, who had already let go of his arm and went to find Braven.
Crewe sighed. Ann and Braven grew up together. Ann is good and highly cultured and steeped in propriety. The falling flower has the intention, but the flowing water has no love. Braven was stubborn and didn't like her at all.
Thinking of this, Crewe shook his head helplessly.
For Braven, he did not only have any feelings for this girl he grew up with, but he also particularly hated her.
The three words he hated the most, “My mom said”, were her three favorite words. Since childhood, these three words have been Ann's mantra. He would be in a bad mood when he heard the three words. He was especially angry and had an impulse to punch her in the face.
It was only because Braven had never met his mom! He couldn't like someone who flaunted his mom in front of him all day long!
Braven was standing not far from the entrance with a champagne cocktail in his hand.
He had seen Ann a few minutes ago. When he saw the intimacy between her and her father, he picked up his glass and drank it down. What a nuisance!
Seeing Ann looking around, he took a few steps back and deliberately hid behind a pillar.
Ann almost circled the entire hall before finding Braven.
It was the first time she had seen Braven dressed so formally and heroically. She was wearing a gown customized for her by her mother, her skin white and beautiful, which seemed to flood her heart with a wave of pride that they were a match made in heaven!
Braven smiled awkwardly at her, outwardly conversing pleasantly with her, while his two uneasy eyes revealed his absent-mindedness.
He searched the crowd for Aida, but he couldn't find her even after looking around several times.
“Braven, are you looking for someone?”
“Yeah!”
“Aida, right?”
“Have you seen her?”
“No!”Ann's voice carried obvious anger.
The atmosphere became awkward.
Ann suppressed her emotions and her voice instantly turned gentle, seizing this hard-won opportunity to extend an invitation to Braven, “Braven, my mom said that when you're free, she'll invite you to our house for dinner. ”
Braven was suddenly stunned for a moment, and his heart grew disgusted, “My mom said” again!
Obviously, he was more sensitive to the three words than anything else.
He smiled at Ann, his tone full of impatience, “I'm in a bit of a hurry right now, excuse me. ”
“Braven, you. . . . ” Braven didn't give Ann an ounce of mercy, she was so angry that she stomped her feet.
Braven walked around the entire banquet hall and still didn't see Aida. He felt even more upset, so he directly walked towards the banquet foyer, intending to go out to get some air.
The men and women in the banquet hall were mingling and gossiping.
By this time, the host on stage had already begun to read out the banquet program.
As he walked, he pretended to look around as if nothing had happened, still searching for Aida, but his attention was attracted by a stranger leaning against the French windows, who was about 30 years old. The man was handsome with a straight figure. He seemed calm and his eyes were determined, with an aura that was clearly different from the people around him.
He was gazing at Braven with an indifferent and not-so-polite look!
At first, Braven did not pay any attention to it; with his father's influence, it was not surprising that someone was secretly observing him.
He took a few more steps in the direction of the doorway and unconsciously glanced again in the direction of the man, who was still staring at him!
Very tall, with a straight body and a very outstanding appearance, definitely not an ordinary person from his appearance.
As he also stared at the strange man, he felt a certain hostility released from his eyes.
His intuition told him that this man's appearance seemed. . . Seemed to be related to him. . .
