Lana's POV I groaned as I struggled to open my eyes, the light from the window seeming too bright. The first thing I saw was Mark sitting by the side of my bed looking absolutely miserable. What happened? As the fog started to clear from my brain, memories of a figure attacking me in the dark came flooding back. My heartbeat increased as I remembered a pale hand wrapped around my neck, its steely strength choking the life out of me. Mark grabbed my hand and squeezed lightly. "It's ok, it's over now." he said grimly. "what -" I started, but my throat burned when I tried to speak and my voice came out hoarse and scratchy.
