Chapter 7 A Day With Karsyon

979 Words
Even though he was a sorry excuse of a man, Karsyon was still recognized by the great S.P.A.R. He was just approaching his late 20s and felt his life was well earned. "Mom!" He called out, his voice filled with nothing but glee. His mother had been a worthy figure in the sports world. She would being home medals year after year and was seen as a role model to many. Such a woman could carry the whole world on her back without breaking a single sweat but that was in the past. Her independent, brave nature remained but she had lost her mobility, now stuck in a wheel chair after an accident on set. Karsyon had always loved and admired the woman. She would brush off her injury as if it was nothing. Her mental strength overpowered every negative thought that surfaced, she defeated it all with nothing but positive thinking. She had always told him one thing, from the day he was born to the last day she was alive. It takes time to become a star, hard work will never be in vain even if you become they kind you didn't expect. Protect the moon, shield it with your light. She laid on her death bed as he was dressed in his school uniform. He was drenched in sweat from his extreme efforts of rushing to her side. "Mom!" Karsyon cried, holding the ever-growing cold limp wrist in his hand. He didn't know what to say. Everytime his mouth opened nothing would come to mind, he couldn't think at all. He panicked as her life was slowly being swept away because of her injury. Her eyelids were heavy and she could hardly breathe on her own however, she forced her mouth by sheer will alone,  "Kars..come here." She whispered lowly, her voice was so crisp and low that Karsyon almost didn't hear her. He rushed to lean his head closer, engulfing his mother in a hug while she was still alive. She smiled, her cracked dry lips much too different from her usual full and rosy ones. Word by word slowly she whispered out the same exact words she had told him when he was young. His breath hitched in his throat but Karsyon stuffed down his cries just so he could hear her perfectly for the last time. "Don't stray from the right path." she coughed softly, her once energetic lectures now became too much for her to bear, "I love you." She said slowly but that was only the start. She rampaged on and on with same three words, crying her heart out, "I love you, I love you, I love you." She finally stopped after a while when her charcoal eyes started losing their light. "And I'm sorry." She choked out finally, giving in to her exhausted state. Karsyon only watched her with his tears slowly sweeping down his cheek. He held her hand tight, "Thank you Mom, for being the best of your kind." He smiled softly before giving her a quick peck on the forehead. "I love you too." Her final year fell as her heart monitor showed a straight line followed by a sound almost like static. He hugged her hand tightly almost not wanting to let go but he didn't feel much grief and pain as he had originally thought he would. He still felt burdened by the lost of his mother be he felt so light and happy that he was able to spend time with such a person. He didn't even realize the doctor's surprised stares at him as he slowly rested on his now deceased mother and fell asleep within her grasp. If he saw what the doctor's did his sleepiness would disappear immediately. Because of his mother's wealth and care he had life pretty well but he had never bothered with technology and sprinted outdoors all day long, trying to find a new way impress his mother. Surrounding the now sleeping Karsyon was a fine emitted glow of white as if he was at peace at such a normally catastrophic event. The doctor's knew immediately that the light meant he had awakened as a Lumin and immediately contacted S.P.A.R to deal with it. On scene was Rico and Dior. They were younger, just about in their 20s but upon seeing the sleeping Karsyon they couldn't help but raise a brow. They knew what they had to do and took Karsyon along with them to first get settled in then tested for his abilities. Some may have cold and inconsiderate since his mother hadn't even passed away for a full month yet and he was already being put under stress. For Karsyon though saw it as somewhat a new goal to impress his mother with so he would train until his bones creaked and begged for rest. Eventually a few years had passed and he grew accustomed to his everyday life with Bruno, Rico and Dior. Bruno he had met when he first came looked like the hardest to get along with and indeed he was, it took him quite some time just to carry out a conversation with him but at least there was improvement. Dean was still the same cheerful and motivational person he was currently. No one knew what his ability was and since there was a wide variety to go by he had given up right after his first guess. Dean had always been seen with his wife but after a while she gradually stopped coming, then there was the big attack not long after. There wasn't much to go by and the city was practically in ruins for a few months. He felt as he was leaving he left piece of himself behind but everytime he ventured across the same bridge it never resurfaced. What happened in the hospital that day?
