Dinner

Wyatt Getting to know my little mate has been amazing, time just seemed to slip away unnoticed, I'm between the laughter, stolen looks and lingering kisses. I couldn't keep my hands off of her, thank the moon she didn't seem to mind. Khaia herself seemed like she couldn't keep her hands off of me, with them tangled in my hair at the back of my neck. That simple act however, took away my ability to think straight. The sparks seemed to shoot directly into my brain and melt away every thought I could possibly form. It has to be magic, having someone you barely know be the center of your world. We stayed at this table in my mother's restaurant for hours and yet, it felt like no time had passed at all. I could stay here in this little booth with her forever. When we sat here it was brunch, we were both in shock when miss Lin, Logan's mother asked us if we were stay for dinner, that's when it dawned on us, it was now night time, we had not even noticed. We had spent the whole day talking and getting to know each other. We decided to stay for dinner and part after. Our peaceful time was soon interrupted by a very loud little woman, I recognised as the friend from the previous night, her best friend Maya. "So since you have a man now this means we don't get to hang out anymore because you already flanking on plans I called and texted waited at the restaurant we reserved for your birthday dinner only for you not to show up" I swear she said all that in one breath, impressive if you ask me. My mate looked incredibly guilty as she eyed her friend, settling on the empty part of the booth. "to be fair, I don't know where my phone is. I haven't seen it since last night" Khaia tried to defend herself "and honestly, the day just kind of go away from me, I couldn't tell you when it turned into night time. Do you think I wanted to be at dinner right now, I'm wearing sundress for God sake, hardly dinner attire" Khaia finished off dramatically. This whole exchange was interesting, I got go see a glimpse of a more relaxed and playful Khaia. I loved it. "Oh I saw that, blasphemous. Anyways, I'm Maya. And who might you be, bestfriend stealing thief?" She asked me while holding her hand out to me. I give a light chuck and shake her hand, "Wyatt, it's a pleasure to meet you" I replied back, Maya's eye widen as a huge grin shows itself on her face."Hello VOICE. Now I see why you wanted to jump his bones. With eyes like that, a face like that, a body like that and I can't even see all of it, add that sexy deep baritone, I would too." Maya says as she dramatic fana herself with hand. "How did you know about that?" my mate seems taken aback for a second before realisation hits her "Emma, but of course". "Also, hands off b***h, I'll cut you" she quickly adds and soon they both laugh. I however try to stifle an approving growl, but fail. They booth look at me for a second before going back to the conversation. Now close enough, I'm able to take in Maya's scent more, and she is a witch as well. I can practically smell the potions off her, she must specialise in potions, since the smell so potently on her. Why is my mate surrounded by witches and does she know they are witches? I won't lie, this greatly bothers me. There shouldn't be this many witches this close to the royal pack, and there definitely shouldn't be this many witches around my human mate. "Wyatt?" Khaia shakes me out of my thoughts, "are you ok?" she must have asked me something. "I'm ok" I quickly say, giving her a tight smile. "Are you sure?" she asks again, "you looked deep in thought and you were making a face" she continued. "I'm ok" I try to reassure her, pulling to me and giving her a kiss on the forehead, "I promise" I add. She still looks sceptical but she let's it go. "Anyways, I was asking if Maya could stay for dinner and Mike is also coming to join us. You see, we had dinner plans for my birthday and since it's your birthday too, why don't we all celebrate together. You can call your friends... if you want" Khaia tell me. She doesn't know the situation with Stone, if I were to call my friends here, he would probably not leave here alive. Jaime would kill him and honestly, I'd help. After everything that piece of s**t did, he is lucky he's still breathing. After an intense moment, I finally say "of course Maya can stay, as for Stone, I need you to understand there is bad blood there and if I were to call my friends, there will be a fight" and that is the honest truth. "There is a big story there" Maya mutters understand her breath, but I catch it, wolf hearing and all. "What happened between you guys?" Khaia inquires, in a soft voice. "A story for another day my love" I say, before adding, "he may come, but I won't engage with him. He is important to you, so I won't hurt him, but understand, I want to" I finish off. Khaia looks kind of sad but says nothing, Maya looks intrigued about the situation. she doesn't get to ask her questions because in walks Michael Stone. Looking smug as ever, holding a paper bag. I can only guess it's the gift he alluded to earlier. He hand her the bag as soon as he get to the table, I'm fighting hard to keep black at bay, he wants a fight with the wolf in front of us. He wants to deliver justice. "Happy birthday again, my beautiful Khai" he says moving to kiss her cheek, this time I do growl, loud enough to shake the table. The fucktard moves to sit next to Maya and Khaia looks visibly alarmed. She doesn't say anything though and moves to other her gift. It's a big pale blue bag with an intricate designs with Christian Dior written on the front. My mate screams in excitement and I nearly closed my ears. "You got me the tote in the colour I wanted" her voice is filled with so much excitement. I mean, it's just a bag. "Look inside" Michael instructs Khaia and she does, this time she pulls out a smaller bag, also a soft blue colour. "Oh Mike this is too much, I don't know what to say!" I just want to punch him in his smug face and I'm sure my face shows it, but he pays me no mind. I bet he knows what she is to me, in fact, I'm sure of it. "Well, you are going to have to say you love me when you see what's inside that one" he says this while looking me dead in the eye, this shithead is batting me. Khaia puts a hand on my thigh, no doubt feeling the tension. I pull her on to my lap by her waist and take a lung full of her scent, to calm myself down. She doesn't protest, she just carries on with what she doing. So receptive, she is. She looks inside the tiny bag and pulls out a piece of paper, "you got me shares at Dior?" she is shocked. "Since you spent such ridiculous amounts of money at their stores, might as well make money from them too" he shrugged. "Finally putting Daddy's money to good use I see, that's good" Maya teased. "Here I was thinking you were a simple girl" I teased my mate. "SIMPLE?!" both girls scream in unison, "what about me screams simple?" my girl asks, "nothing" I whisper as I steal a quick kiss "absolutely nothing. The rest of dinner is somewhat fun with the girls turning the restaurant into a dance club, playing and singing along to music in a language I have never her before. She looked happy and carefree. I pull her aside for a second sometime later "I have to leave now, got an early flight tomorrow. I'll be gone for a week" I say, the sadness in her face almost kills me.
