Chapter Nineteen

295 Words
06:27 Barely had his day started and Detective Chase found himself driving to a crime scene. Another murder. His partner, Benjamin, hadn’t given much detail. All he had said was that it was real bad, and when Chase got to the crime scene, he had to agree with Benjamin. The blood was massive. It filled almost half of the living room where the crime was committed. The victim’s head was caved in and his brain was very well visible. There was blood on the floor that had obviously flowed from the head wound, but that was not the only place blood had flowed from. The victim had a terrible gash in his chest and his stomach and Chase could also see a place where the man was stabbed several times a few inches from where the heart should have been. Detective Chase tried to prevent himself from stepping on the blood as he knelt very close to the body and did a closer examination. He could see a mark on the neck. It was a long, thin ugly mark like someone had tried to use a thin rope to strangle him. The man had definitely been a die hard. Chase thought. He saw a gas cylinder four feet away from the body and assumed it was the weapon that was used to bludgeon the man to death. “We haven’t identified him yet, but we saw his lab coat hanging on that corner and assumed he was a doctor.” Benjamin said. Chase didn’t bother to look up at Benjamin. He didn’t even know his partner was pointing. “His name is Christopher. Dr. Christopher. And he worked at Zyberdine.” Chase said getting up.
