Chapter one: Happy-Sad Family

There I was crying for the 4th time in one day, I just can't help myself, losing Emily broke me. Mom and dad always try to mask their emotions and be happy around me but they aren't fooling anyone, especially not me.

Everything reminds me of her, she had the cutest and brightest smile and her big blue eyes that lit up Everytime she saw me. How could the universe be so cruel and take such a wonderful soul, she hadn't even had her 18th birthday yet, I hope she's happy and at peace now.

I stood up and cleaned my tears because Emily would have hated seeing me cry so much, she always said I look awful when I cry, remembering this brought a small smile to my face.

"Megan!....... Megan! " my mom called all the way from down stairs, I guess she's ready to go to the mall...

"Uhhhhhhhhg" I sighed into my pillow. Since my sister passed my parents have been so attached to me, I know they do it cause they love me but sometimes it's so annoying. I knew this would happen when they asked me to move back into our family house but I had no choice then, we were all grieving, we'll I'm still grieving but you get my point.

"I'm coming mom" I stuck my head out the door so she could hear me clearly.

I quickly wore some shorts and sweats and my favourite black addias sambas shoes.

I picked up my keys from my vanity while running down the stairs cause I definitely won't let my mother shout my name again.

My mum and I got into my black Mercedes, I most certainly wasn't going to drive my mom's Lexus anywhere! No offence to her, it's a nice car but I just love my baby so much, I mean who won't love a black Mercedes GLE with a burgundy interior and a matte waterproof exterior.

I and Emily picked it out after I got my first salary from my dream job and even though I have two other cars which my dad got for me in my 16th and 20th birthday, this one will always mean more to me.

Mum doesn't really like the car, well she used to cause it used to be our girls out car but since Emily passed she hasn't been fond of the vehicle.

"where to first?" I asked her looking over to the passengers side.

"I can still smell her scent" mom said holding her seat belt in place. She smiled softly and inhaled deeply as if she was trying to take it all in.

To be honest that's why I love the car not because it classy or nice bit cause it makes me feel close to Emily and that's the best feeling ever.

After a brief moment my mom snapped out of her little daze and told me our itinerary for the day.

Two malls and one restaurant later we were finally home with some take out for dinner.

"Hi pumpkin" my dad, Ethan Baker said, I absolutely mate when he calls me that but he'll never stop no matter how much I beg him to.

He always gave I and Emily the worse nicknames.

"Hey daddy, when did you get back from work? " I said as I went to give him a hug

“Not too long, your mom said I should stop spending most of my time at the office so here I am" he chuckled

My mom and dad are the cutest couple everrrr, I'm so jealous of the kind of relationship they have. It's honestly amazing how they have been together practically all their lives and they still love and listen to each other.

I left the two love birds to themselves and went upstairs to change into something comfortable. On entering my room I got a text from my Bestie, Molly;

DINNER AT RADISSONS?

I quickly texted back with an OK cause I haven't seen her in awhile and I was honestly excited to be away from my parents even if it's just for a while.

I hurriedly went downstairs to inform my parents I wasn't joining them for dinner then went back to my room to get ready.
