The Chase

Angel

We pulled up on StarScar Island and banked the ship. The two crews left to gather supplies and build shelters.The plan was to camp on the beach and celebrate our winning display we had done. It also rocked that we lost the tail. We had enough rum to get everyone wasted three times over. A night on the beach with some rum sounded like a good enough celebration for a job well done.

I had read in my mother's books that there was a treasure here. With the idea of a romantic treasure hunt with Seth, we left Rex and Skylar incharge to make sure the camps got built. Hand in hand, and with some supplies, Seth and I took off for the center of the island. I wish that I could tell you it was exciting but unfortunatly there were nothing but trees and rocks and a ton of bugs. This is why I love the ocean. I feel like you see one tree you have seen them all and rocks bore me to sleep. I hate bugs as they litterally bug me. But when it comes to the ocean every fish is different every wave has a mind of its own and there is something about being able to take a deep breathe and not having to worry about snorting some lifeform.

After about twenty minutes we reached a clearing with the broken star shaped bolder and noticed that the dirt in the area was disturbed. "It looks like someone beat us to the punch" Seth pointed out. "Yeah right where the book said it was too so whoever did it knew what they were looking for. Maybe they left a calling card." I stated. We searched around looking for anything that could tell us who did it. But before we could find anything a flare was set off. As it exploded over the island I looked to Seth and we took off running for the ships.

By the time we got there both Ships were gone. Seth looked at me and asked "What's the plan?" "Well when Skylar has to set off the flare it means an enemy is coming and she will circle the island and try to swing by and grab us while being chased. So that way noone gets left behind and they wont get caught. So be ready to catch a rope when you see them." I explained. We waited for a bit and before long we could see the ships with Seth's uncle's ship right behind them. We ran for the ropes on Skullfully yours and climbed them. Once safe onboard I turned and asked Seth what his uncles name was. "Theodore" "Perfect so then to piss him off I will call him Ted." Seth gave a hearty chortle. "Oh he is going to love that... Not." We high fived each other and started rattling off ideas to get under his skin while he was 'chasing' us.

Night and Day the old bag followed us on the sea and we had to pass ports that we needed to stop at because 'Ted' is following us and won't stop. Seth isn't too worried but I wanted to stop at the last one to grab a few things that wont be at the next port. Ted is relentless hes been on us like ink on a map. Patches is getting grumpy that she hasnt had her tea as we have ran out early. I have been losing sleep over the fact we haven't been able to bank him yet. Seth has an idea that might work but we have to make it to the next island. I could see it working but not if he follows Seth's ship. We want to see who he is after Seth isn't convinced its me.

After a week on the waves as the ocean has been a bit choppy due to the storms rolling through, we can see the island. It has a river going through it that splits the island up untill the mountain with a waterfall. So the plan is Seth takes the river and hand turns the ship around it will just barely fit and I am to go around and when we go past Seth will come out behind his uncle and we will torment him before we run off again.

We set it up and I am already headed to the right and Seth's ship is headed into the river. I look behind us while Skylar takes the wheel. My stomache drops when I see Ted follow Seth in the river. He's stuck with no way out. "Quick turn around the plan failed."

Seth

Yup I knew this would happen. He is so predictable, he has hated me since I told my cousin to follow her dreams and do what she wanted not to listen to uncle who had her entire life planned out. Rex looks at me but doesn't say a word, I know he feels guilty that we didn't let the ladies know that this would happen. As we pull up on the base of the waterfall we slow to a stop and we slid down the ropes to get off the ship.

The crew gathered behind me to let me know they were here until the end and they weren't going anywhere. It's been an honor to be their captain as they are loyal and beautiful people. The only solace I have is that Angel and her crew are getting away. I try to not roll my eyes when my uncle makes his apperance with his troop behind him. He always loved to showboat his rank around. How I wish to slap him but that would make thanksgiving awkward. Not that we celebrate that holiday anyways. Dad never did get along with his brother and I don't know any of my mothers family.

"Well it's about time you stopped you little pirate." he said in a condesending tone. "You do realize no matter the tone you use pirate will never be an insult to me it will always be an honor." I retorted. He snuffed and responded "Of course you love taking after daddy dearest." I shrugged and said "At least my Dad isn't using his power to sleep with children you damn pedifile." That boiled his blood. "SHE DIDN'T TELL ME SHE WAS FIFTEEN IT WASN'T MY FAULT" he yelled. His crews faces contorted into shock and horror. Many were repulsed and appalled to the point they backed up they would not support anything he does now. Rex leaned over and asked "I wonder if they plan on leaving him on the island now."

I was laughing until I looked up. I was in awe his entire ship was on fire and I don't even know how that started. Until I see her hanging from a rope dropping to the ground with a huge smile there. She casually walked over to where we were while the ship exploded behind her and with out looking back she reaches me and kissed my cheek. I grabbed her face and kissed her back harder and dipped her to add some extra romance for the woman whom has stollen my heart.
