CHAPTER FOUR

CYRA'S POV I shoved Roman away as he tried to lift me. "So you're Alpha Lucian, the mighty invader of our pack. What do you want with me? Where's my father?" I yelled, pounding his chest with all the fury I had. He just stood there, unflinching, letting me hit him. "Do you even care? Why are you dragging me from the last people I have in this world? What did you do to my father?" I shouted at Lucian, my voice raw and shaking. "I don't send for you," Lucian responded. I frowned at his response and shouted, "Then who dares to!" For the first time since arriving in Silver Crest, I noticed that as I screamed, the wind never responded. When I cried, the rain never fell. Here, the palace sky remains indifferent to my anger. Was it because I'm trapped in this palace, cut off from the outside? Leaving Lucian, I went to his balcony and looked out over the palace grounds. It's magnificent. I observed the weather; everything seemed normal. Yet, since stepping into the palace, everything—including myself—felt strange. Lucian sidled closer, eclipsing the moonlit rail. He drawled, "You scent wolfless, Cyra." "How do you know?" I asked, squirming to glare at him. "Don’t play stubborn in my Palace. You are the weakest in my Palace," Lucian warned. "When you know I'm the weakest, why did you send for me to be disgraced!" I shouted at Lucian. "Send me back to my pack," I demanded. "As I said earlier, I didn't send for you. Forget about your pack! You are going nowhere," Lucian growled, his eyes like cold fire. My heart clenched with helpless anger. "Heartless Alpha," I groaned silently at Lucian. "I'm going back to the harem. Tell those guards to swing the doors open!" I shouted at Lucian. "We are sleeping together tonight," Lucian sneered, his words cutting sharp and cold, as if daring me to protest. I chuckled, my voice edged with disdain. "So this is your game, right?" I went straight to his bed. A ray of light entered his chamber. I woke to find him beside me. He grasped my hair, and I gently removed his hand before slipping quietly from his bed, careful not to wake him. I picked up my shoes and gown. I quickly rise and check myself to see if nothing went on last time. My eye caught a portrait I hadn't noticed last night, half-hidden. Moving closer, I uncovered it completely and realized the portrait was of me. I frowned, clenched my teeth, and fist. I moved to the bed where Lucian still slept. As I moved closer to the portrait, I squinted at it. “Do you like your picture here,” Interrupts from behind. I raised my brows, clutching my lips between my teeth. A smirk crossed his face. I could see a strange joy in him. “Oh, I just love it. Adore it!” I snap, words dripping with sarcasm as I smack him with my shoe, frustration boiling over. "How can you defend yourself, no, Lucian? What is my picture doing here?" I growled at him. "I said I don't order for you, Cyra!," he snarled back at me. "I saw your picture from Queen Ashara's chamber. You brought it here as a gift for me!," Lucian explained. "Gift? Am I nothing more than a goat or a lamb to you? I’m human!" I shouted at Lucian, my voice shaking with anger. "I thought you were a good man when I first met you at the hidden garden. I didn't know you were such a cruel Alpha," I said angrily. "I'm confused now. What do you want, Alpha?" I asked him angrily. I tried to touch the portrait, but the touch was shocking, sparking. "Shuhhh, what the hell?" I groaned in pain. He tried to hold me while I shoved him away. "Why do you care?" I asked. He seemed surprised, too. He touched the portrait, but nothing happened to him. Angry, I shoved him away and knocked the portrait down. “Just watch—I’ll break out of this prison palace, with or without your permission!” My words are a promise slammed in his face. He gripped my arm as I was about to snap from him. "No one ever comes here and leaves here alive. Better accept it now," he scolded me. I was never afraid of anyone as I shoved my hand from his grip. As I tried to leave his chamber, someone knocked. "Enter," Lucian said. "Your majesty, Queen Elara has left the palace with the prince and princess. We've not seen her," Darvish said while he bowed. "Lucian, this is the result of your mercy. If you followed the customs, did you know that she was going to collide with the Shadow Moon?" Queen Celene said. "You quickly jump to conclusions, mother," Lucian shushed her. "How?" Lucian shouted as he bit his lower lip, clutching his fist angrily. "Darvish, find her and bring my brother. If you don't find them, I will rip your head off your neck!," Lucian growled. I watched him pacing around his chamber. I observed the pain in him. So he can feel the pain for his family now, why didn't he feel sympathy for me by sending me back to find my father? I just recalled a small boy ran into a girl's harem yesterday while I helped him pile a nut. Suddenly, a little girl came for him, shoved him out, while she was dressed in a cloak. Our gaze was about to meet, then I quickly receded from his chamber. As I was stomping off the corridor where I walked up to Ryhana, who gripped me to the harem. "Zyra, do anything with her?" Ryhana said to the forewoman. "Where are you going now?" Zyra asked. "I'm going to hell, if you feel like following me," Ryhana said, scoffing. "Everyone, among the twenty of you, she came recently and was the first to mate our Alpha. She might have gotten pregnant," the forewoman addressed. I just kept quiet and watched as she called Williams to arrange where Alpha’s favorite stayed. She disguised her glare as she went upstairs; two ladies followed, carrying my luggage. She was the one staying there before I wanted to move in, while she moved to the girls' harem. "Why scowl? You have your own room, you'll be treated like royalty, buying silk gowns and gold bangles. Stop pretending," Williams said, pride gleaming in his eyes. “Your tyrant Alpha doesn’t bother me,” I say, each word a shield behind my lifting chin. "I just want paper and ink. That is what I am concerned about," I explained. "How dare you say that?" she shushed me. "I wish to mate him one day and give heir," she said. "I want to write to my sister, so she will know I am alive," I said. "Wait, don't you have family?" I asked angrily. "Family? I was raised for the palace," she said. "Then what did you both do last night?" Williams asked. "Then what did you both do last night?" Williams asked. "Let me be sincere, nothing happened. Never will such happen," I said. Then I noticed she put on a smirk immediately and snapped at me as she packed. A moment later, I was shoved down into the girls' harem. "She will be here now; she's still a virgin," Zyra said. I glared at the person we discussed a few minutes ago, so this is all you're doing. "Everyone, behold!" the guard shouted. Everyone is on their feet; those who sleep rise up immediately, leaning their heads to bow. Ryhana and others in charge of managing the harem entered. I smiled as I saw Golge, my deaf friend, but he didn't return my smile. The situation seems wild. "Who saw Queen Elara and the prince? They were missing in the harem," a woman with a golden walking stick shouted as she asked. But no one responded. "No one right? Ryhana, smash their heads. They will talk," the woman shouted. My heart jolted as I remembered sneaking out of the palace. A woman with two royal children and a slave passing the only narrow I tried to sneak out. But his. Definitely,, there's a way out, but I haven't found it.
