I didn't sleep through the entire night. I was awakened instead, by a rush of wind beating against my closed balcony doors. I shrugged it off as some ordinary midnight-breeze, but I was wrong. Winds never lasted that long, and these winds were way too strong. My balcony doors began to rock gently back and forth, swaying with the push of the wind outside. They wouldn’t fly open because they were locked, but it was still pretty creepy looking at them from my bed. I couldn’t fall back asleep, and when I looked at the time I saw that it was only past eleven at night. My light was still on, I’d realised, but I couldn’t take it off now. Instead I dragged myself over to the balcony and opened the doors. Instantaneously, a giant rush of wind blew past me and I struggled to stay put.
